In general I've completely changed my eating habits.
I did a lot of research about how people around the world eat and their eating habits in contrast to America. I've decided to completely go against what's common American food sense and I've been greatly benefiting.
One example is proportion size. The size of the American food plate has increased from 9 inches in the 1950's to 12-13 inches to today. That's an insane increase it's partly why we eat so much food. Researching it, I've found that apparently European countries still eat on 9 inch plates, so I threw away my old plates and got new 8.5 inch plates. The amount of food you can fit on these plates are vastly different.
The entire way Americans consume food is fucked up and has resulted in mass social failure as corporations jockey to convince people that bigger = better.
With most of my meals being veggies, I've started to include rice in almost every meal. I make a curry rice and one serving is 100-200 calories depending on what I put in it.
Great thing about the rice is its versatility. It's great filler and helps build necessary calories when you're eating a vegetable heavy meal. So I can do the above but also this.
Curry has become my favorite spice basically.
I've gone full on
and mimicking Japan since they have the smallest size index in a developed nation on top of having the longest life expectancy.
I've also learned about the Japanese motto of eating till you're 80% full.
With all of this combined I eat around 1500-1600 calories a day on target with minimal calorie counting.
It's been life changing and I honestly among the healthiest I've ever been.
