I'm going to watch Homeland season two (and maybe the rest) finally. I watched like two episodes of it back when it first aired but got distracted by other stuff. But it's the oldest thing (other than deliberately old programs) I've got sitting around so I've decided it shall be done. IT SHALL. Also my therapist has mentioned it like two weeks in a row.

Also stocked up on Daredevil for when the fuckery gets too much to handle and I need a short marathoned break. Assuming I don't get sucked into the fuckery.

I watched an episode of that CSI: Cyber. I have no idea what the CSI part has to do with anything, they investigated exactly one crime scene and after finding the cell phone, they left. Patricia Arquette is terrible, her face never changes but her hair does randomly, and the character isn't even an expert in anything CYBER, she's a psychologist! I think they dropped every possible social media buzzword in the online bullying episode I watched, and the office they work in is like the most absurd thing ever. But James Van Der Beek is amazing, and they gave him the only scene that needed real acting done like Arquette couldn't handle it, and I love imagining how his being on this show fits into the Don't Trust the Bitch universe. Also Lil Bow Wow, excuse me, Shad Moss and the guy who plays Fat Neil's lab gimmicks are amusing and seem to be the only parts where people with actual knowledge of computers scripted the dialogue.

I've been watching Elementary recently.  I think the only reason I like it is Lucy Lu in pantyhose all the time.
There's a couple other reasons for me. It's really just a bleaker darker version of Monk, where Monk is an asshole. (The first season of Monk is pretty dark though.) And Lucy Liu and the dude who plays Sherlock are oddly likable as a team. I liked how early on they played up his visible contempt at whenever she contributes to the cases, and slowly eliminated that to where he expects her to contribute now.

Watched the first season of Other Space.

https://screen.yahoo.com/other-space/

Pros:
Has Trace Beaulieu as a robot and Joel Hodgson as minor crew members.
SpaceShip comedy in the vein of something like Red Dwarf
Very low budget

Cons:
Focuses too much on love storylines
Not amazingly funny. I find myself smiling at the occasional funny things instead of actually laughing
Feels like a collegehumor.com style comedy instead of something ideally smarter. (Let's say Rick and Morty to pull a random example as the latter)

I've seen worse and wasted time on worse.

I watched an episode of that CSI: Cyber.

This is the most ridiculous show I've ever seen. You would think that if you were going to make a show exclusively focused on cyber crimes, you would get writers who understand how computers work.

yesss, i loved how they visualized everything from the internet or dark net or deep web (they police all three) like the firewall there. "When was this video uploaded?!?" "MINUTES AGO!" And we see this giant purple graphic OF THE INTERNET that splits into cubes and we fly through it and then they show the video the girl uploaded. Like 80% of the scenes had some kind of graphic like this or some other overlay over the people like their handles and what they were posting.

Since this one was about social media they were constantly going to a social media web and showing how messages spread. So it was just a bunch of randomly populating circles and lines drawn to them as like four people stood around and watched it on like an eighty foot screen. Then they got the BLACKHAT girl to work to narrow it down and found that most of the "tweets" (which they couldn't say) were coming FROM PEOPLE AT THE GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL. And their investigation went all over the country and they interrogated all these random people and stole their ipads, when in like the first ten minutes they had identified the computer THE CYBER BULLY WAS USING as being in the school, then they came back in the last five minutes of the show with an app to sniff for the MAC address they acquired.

After reflecting on it, I think this might be the greatest show ever created.

omg

This is one of the best anime I've ever seen! :rejoice

An action anime in which the characters are able to show affection towards each other, imagine that. I've seen a kiss on the cheek and I'm only on episode 4. :lol

It gets even better. Book 2 is god-tier.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Evil Dead show. Im trying not to get my hopes up too much considering how Raimi's movies took a dip after Drag Me To Hell and that I didn't enjoy the remake much.

To be fair, while I liked Oz there's no question it's probably the worst movie in his filmography.

That said everything they've said about Ash vs Evil Dead has been great, and Drag Me To Hell shows he's still got it after all these years.

Yeah, I assumed Oz was a Tim Burton film, but then it didn't suck as much as I'd thought it would... and then it turned out to be Raimi, so I was disappointed that it wasn't a bit better.

I went ahead and watched some Kdrama.

It was a show called Good Doctor
About this kid with autism (I don't mean it in a disparaging way, the dude is literally autistic) whose dad throws his rabbit against a wall, then his brother dies in a cave collapse out of seemingly nowhere. He grows up to be a savant doctor who through the course of the show manages to do the absolute opposite of what a "good doctor" would do. Such feats include:

Throwing glass on kids, nearly killing them
Breaking kid's toys
Pissing off your superiors
Ignoring patients to fuck off and do whatever

All in all, he wasn't a very good doctor, but he hooked up with some cute nurse by enduring her alcoholism.
0/10 would not be his patient.

Not sure about my thoughts. On one hand the sets are gorgeous and it seems to have potential. But at the same time it seems to be a try hard with whole "me too! me too!" on GoT coattails. What's the consensus?

It's almost shocking how epic Avatar can be but too often there's this weird forced drama between the protagonists that remind me it's basically a show for kids. Hard to stomach at times when everything else is so good, but I guess I should be happy it doesn't happen all the time. :yeshrug

I thought it was generally pretty good at not finding contrived reasons for the main characters to fight all the time. That shit wears me out so fast on a show no matter if it's kids or adults.

In fact I can't remember any real instance of it in A:TLA off the top of my head...

If you're talking about that :trash Korra then yeah, that's basically every fucking episode in season one. :lol
