He’s clearly losing his mind. The way he’s acting in the video, and on top of that, buying a completely impractical car that very few people can honestly afford.

A black men gets frustrated at a white women and now he's an angry psychopath.

A real person gets into a real mental and physical problem that has actual consequences, frustrating him: "He's losing it"

Trump tweets something and causes a forum meltdown: "I consider us intellectuals"

Maybe I'm dumb-dumb but why does Stinkles assume he knows, even roughly, the nature of Tracy Morgan's revenues and how abiding he is to his tax obligations ?

Is interesting how fast Cheeto and Surfinn are trying to spin that Collider meltdown or the people saying “is about white privilege”. Hell, The Mary Sue just outright lied and told it was because sexism:

https://www.themarysue.com/entitled-host-cries-about-star-wars/amp/

Is so weird, they are not even defending him, just trying to dismiss the shill claims to entitlement/whiteprivilage/sexism.

Tracy Morgan pays taxes. Most of his income is wages. I have no problem with any amount of income as long as it is taxed appropriately. In fact, appropriate taxation would solve a huge number of American economic disparity even if nothing else changed.

Tracy Morgan, to paraphrase Chris Rock -“ is not rich. If Bill Gates woke up with Tracy Morgan’s money- he’d kill himself.”

I think it’s fine to be disgusted by someone buying a two million dollar car in a city where people overdose and die in alleys or can’t feed their kids, but Morgan relatively speaking is a moral and ethical capitalist citizen.

People who live on investment income who create zero wealth and pay lower taxes on their income than blue collar workers are a much more significant ethical problem- and have the influence to warp the tax code so that it deliberately subsidizes their lifestyle by placing that burden on workers.

Companies who offshore their income and profits and pay net zero or even profit from us tax codes- while having even MORE influence on tax policy are a bigger problem than billionaire trust fund parasites. Wal-Mart has pushed for improvements in food stamps because they can then pay workers less and those same food stamps arrive as income AT Wal-Mart. So by all means get mad at this guy who lucked out, entertained millions with his talent and was rewarded according to market forces for his ridiculous luxury purchase- but the people you should be mad at get to hide their outrages and never suffer the derision you’re focusing on the wrong problem.

HR Block and Intuit and other tax preparation companies changed the law to DELIBERATELY obscure and hide free tax preparation forms from low income Americans including the armed forces. They’re legally permitted to defraud the most vulnerable American workers into paying for a free system.

Blatant - sometimes with financial crime fraud records — fraudsters masquerade as churches and charities and you pay for their tax free buildings and wages and homes and jets through your taxes.

Tracy Morgan is a citizen who certainly benefits from inadequate taxation and loopholes and likely other problematic structures- but he’s at least paying taxes and within the bounds of what we’d consider “American dream norms”

My argument was that I think it's wrong to enforce ignorance. When Gawker outed Peter Thiel as gay, I think that was a shitty thing to do. But if i'm having a conversation with someone and I refer to Peter Thiel as gay, and they say "well hold on he's not publicly out" i'm not going to pretend that I don't know out of some weird deference.

(Image removed from quote.)

Anyone that legitimately uses this comic to make any kind of point is a colossal dumbass.

No, your stupid fucking luxury item cellphone is not in any way comparable to improving a function of a mass adopted vehicle or something that you literally can't control like... being born in a society.

You think the slave labor at Foxconn jumping off of buildings is going to give a shit about you and your very mild condemnation of the company that you will KEEP BUYING FROM?  Nah, what they'd rather see is you stop buying that shit so the company they're working for is forced to change or go out of business.  "Oh, but I can't keep in contact with my friends or my work!"  Yeah, bullshit you can't do that with a normal phone that more aligns with your supposed beliefs of not fucking over marginalized groups, but nah, you want all the conveniences that comes with whatever smartphone of your choice.  Or more likely, you just want to surf the internet and play Plants vs Zombies on your lunch break because you're a mindless consumer that's deluded yourself into thinking maybe you have a conscious.  I'd be a lot more willing to believe your "No ethical consumption under capitalism!" pleas if you actually showed you can cut down on those things where possible and not crack whenever a luxury item that you don't need gets released.  Because what you're doing right now is no different than the "out of sight, out of mind" shit that everyone was doing during WWII atrocities.

It's the same with people constantly complaining about Twitter or Youtube or whatever while still using those platforms, and not for work but just to bitch about the platforms.  Like, you realize they have no incentive to change when you're creating content for them as a result of these conflicting views, right?  As cringey as Wil Wheaton is, he actually will put his money where his mouth is and stop using Twitter in protest.  Not a "day of silence" or whatever the fuck it was a year or two ago, but just a flat out boycott.

That goes for all the people that will say "a video game isn't as important as human rights" while buying the next "king of conflict minerals" Nintendo console, or picking and choosing which THQ published/distributed game (so like all of them in Europe) you deem worthy of not being boycotted despite the money going all to the same place.  If you can give all that up to make a point, then you have my respect, but 99% of you will crack like the insufferable hypocrites that you are.

For me it's simpler than that

Forget about the comparison to feudalism, the comic does little more than say "geeze isn't this guy annoying, popping up all over with these quips?" to which I would say "yeah it must be pretty annoying to be confronted with your own cognitive dissonance and to not have any rebuttal at all"

Some people actually examine why they can't find an effective rebuttal and consider changing the way they think about things, or their purchasing habits

Others just keep enjoying their comforts and lamely say "man that guy is annoying"

Also maybe consider where your comic's argument leads if you take it to other natural conclusions

Ms Galaxy, victim of and defender of child pornographers.

She was telling people on GAF they made her sick because “people like them” drove her pedo friend to suicide because they didn’t understand and empathize with his affliction

Just on resetera that poster has claimed to be a gay, trans, non-binary, demisexual, furry who was put through a religious sexual reeducation camp, an immigrant, a naturalised citizen, with friends (plural) who killed themselves because donald trump was elected and who has personally seen people (plural) leave the gaming industry entirely due to gamergate harrassment.

Now all of these claims might well be true, in addition to their few days being kidnapped at 7, abused and filmed then returned.

But those are some claims when taken together.

either Ms. Galaxy has been reading this thread or others have been doing some digging and are questioning her on her past, because she's now attempting to bring it all together into some sort of consistent story

Quote from: Ms. Galaxy
Fascism is very easy to fall into, especially if you're white, hell I fell into it once when I was a teen/young adult. The issue was that I never got the proper education needed to understand fascist rhetoric or understand much in the terms of proper history (which was heavily white washed in schools to the point where it felt "neutral" for lack of a better term) here in the United States. It was after dating a minority, coming to terms with my gender and sexuality, and the people of GAF/Era that I was pushed away from those dangerous thoughts and helped me understand that the cause of my issues was systematic in our society.

All I can say is I wish they played 'Don't Be a Sucker' back when I was in school, cause I was a complete sucker back then.

(Image removed from quote.)

Ah fuck it

You're not fucking special because you were sad, or picked on, or a loner, or a loser....

You didn't bravely overcome fucking anything by deciding you know I don't want to murder women.

You know what, a lot of us have been sad, a lot of us have had shitty lives, but most of us don't use our trauma to openly believe we could have joined a death cult bent on dominating, controlling, raping, abusing and murdering women.

The level of empathy a bunch of utterly mediocre, pathetic, white dudes get is astounding. Except it's not astounding, it's basic, it's the status quo

The hat has become such a fixture on my head that longtime friends will have a hard time recognizing me without it. I've often joked that I can achieve total invisibility easily; all I have to do is scrunch my shoulders, jam my hands in my pockets, look down, and take my hat off.

The Kangol isn't just an integral part of my style, it's become a part of my personality; to a lot of our listeners, Cort and I are like big cartoon characters, and there are a lot of artists in our audience who will often take our shows, and turn them into sketches. They've discovered that by putting a sweater and a Kangol on anything, it will take on my personality and characteristics.

Might be a :no1curr, but am seeing a story about CNET's Ian Sheer making the rounds, where he apparently conspired to get some Youtubers demonitized.

https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2019/06/cnet-gets-youtube-advertisers-to-drop-support-of-thequartering/85835/
Quote
CNET editor-in-chief Ian Sherr took aim at various YouTubers, including CleanPrinceGaming, Upper Echelon Gaming, and TheQuartering. Sherr’s goal? To demonetize them. He was partially successful, managing to get various advertisers to pull their content from Jeremy “TheQuartering” Hambly’s channel.

This all came to a head in an article published on June 6th, 2019 by Sherr, who attempted to frame certain YouTubers in a negative light by claiming that they fed on outrage bait and pumped negativity back into the content creation sphere. His main mission was to target the advertisers of these YouTubers, and he was partially successful
https://twitter.com/UE_UpperEchelon/status/1136794409284931584

But it's mainly The Quartering, so lol...?  Don't know who the other two mentioned are.  This is great, though:

I just wanted to say go fuck yourself. Really glad you stepped down from a place of "power" around here. I'm out of this bet, I changed out of my Digimon avatar. Ban my ass for a month or however long. I don't care. I thought it was funny, harmless fun and you go and pull this..?

A friend in WrassleERA got banned for three days for admitting to using illegal streams to watch WWE, as a sort of protest. Yet this is okay?

You could have done some cringey sexualized pokemon art to embarrass late comers, something silly but clearly worse. This is just absolutely stupid.

Ahem.

Mod Edit: Do not make this your avatar. Image removed.

To be applied whenever they want from this point forward up until the end of the box office run. At which point, the end of the box office run, it must be put on if not elected to prior. Per the rules of the bet, it must remain on from the date of the avatar application for a period of one month. Enjoy.
