The hat has become such a fixture on my head that longtime friends will have a hard time recognizing me without it. I've often joked that I can achieve total invisibility easily; all I have to do is scrunch my shoulders, jam my hands in my pockets, look down, and take my hat off.

The Kangol isn't just an integral part of my style, it's become a part of my personality; to a lot of our listeners, Cort and I are like big cartoon characters, and there are a lot of artists in our audience who will often take our shows, and turn them into sketches. They've discovered that by putting a sweater and a Kangol on anything, it will take on my personality and characteristics.

Sometimes I think "well, maybe I should switch it up a little," but then again, if it's working that well, why mess with it?
