WILL THEY EXPLAIN ANYTHING EVER
WILL THEY EXPLAIN ANYTHING EVERThe hatch was explained in Season 2 and the world of the Others was elaborated upon in Season 3. But I understand what you mean? The Black Rock, Adam and Eve, The Statue, Widmore, The Donkey Wheel, there's so much stuff.
iirc they said in the dvd commentary that the statue was a halfbaked idea that they shitbinned asap and never talked about againIn an article from TVGuide, they said that the statue would be very important this season. Then again they said it was supposed to have been explained in Season 4 I think. So we'll see.
Jack on 24 > Jack on Lost. 'Nuff said.
hurley > willco
How did season 4 end? It was just everyone getting off?
willco is trolling you dorks. he will be there watching with us with his stubby little jew penis in his mitts.
when the fuck are they going to explain that four toe giant foot statue!? and what the hell were they doing the last ep... the entire island just *zipped* into thin air :lol
Jack on 24 > Jack on Lost. 'Nuff said.

As much as I like 24 you're wrong. It just SEEMS that way because Jack on 24 surrounds himself with shitty, shitty characters, and Jack on Lost is surrounded by so many awesome characters.
if lock miraculously comes back to life when brought back to the island im going to roll my eyes so hard ill go blind

For once I'm going to have to agree with Willco. I like Jack Shepard, but he pisses me off sometimes.
FUCK THE ISLAND
OH SHIT WE GOTTA GO BACK.
You know, stuff like that. Whereas Bauer is like "I'M NOT ASHAMED OF ANYTHING I EVER DID RED FOREMAN"
Just watched the pilot again. Damn I forgot how amazing this show is. It just fucking hooks you and never stops
ABC should put the new episode online tomorrow. I'll watch it, just to get a taste. Then I'll continue rewatching the previous seasons to catch up

Fuck the haters, that was awesome. It's going to take some serious restraint to avoid these threads for the next couple of months :'(
It enjoyed the episodes immensely, however, I already hate that they went the time travel route.
Probably LIE TO ME or some Fox bullcrap.
I thought it was "eh". I'll probably tune out for awhile, so I can watch it in blocks and not feel aggrivated that they refuse to explain anything.
Huh? They explained a ton of shit last season and in the opener, and if what the producers say is true, they're moving more into "explaining" mode than "asking."

i thought that episode was pretty awesome
Yeah it was good. I like how it explained a bit about Richard and Locke's connection. It also showed Faraday and Charlotte's connection. It's interesting that the Hydrogen bomb was buried under the ground too, which is in the vault where Desmond had to push the button every 108 minutes to stop from exploding.
Huh? Then how does that explain why the Swan was magnetic?
Yet another episode where they explained nothing!
Yet another episode where they explained nothing!
I stopped watching after a few episodes into Season 2. I picked up towards the tail end in Season 3 when they started to progress the story more, but they seem to be keen on dragging this out forever.
Yet another episode where they explained nothing!I agree with matt. I care way more about the characters than the mythology. The mythology was always secondary for me.
By creating a whole bunch of new questions about Widmore.

I thought it was very sweet of Desmond to name his son Charlie. :-[Some people now think that Desmond's Charlie will get stuck in time and grow up to become rock star Charlie. :rofl
Faraday's facial expressions annoy me for some reason. I can't tell if he's just played by a bad actor or if the character is intended to look awkwardly confused all the time.

It's entertainingly bad. Not like, bad
I really like the lack of Hurley in these episodes. Hopefully he dies this season. He can't. He has to come back to the island.
Um. Yeah. This season when he gets back to the island. How do you know they get back so soon? Forget it. I don't want to know.
I really like the lack of Hurley in these episodes. Hopefully he dies this season.
BTW, the mexican dude who briefly talked to jack, and sayid's officer are the new cast members for this season.
I thought it was ok. I'll admit I'm extremely fidgety and I just want them on the fucking island, I want some god damn island mythos, after the Temple scene with the monster.
The ending to the episode was awesome.spoiler (click to show/hide)I looks like Jin has been settled in Dharma for some time. The other Losties must be working for Dharma, too. Remember the Faraday scene in the season premiere at the hatch site. It's all coming together now. We still have 11 more episodes. Wow.[close]
Do you think Ben was all bloody because he killed Penelope? :o I don't think so myself. Penelope is one of the stronger outside characters
WTF was with Jin in the Dharma uniform driving the van? :o It looks like the timeskipping stopped when Locked fixed the donkey wheel--the Losties must have settled with Dharma for some time now
What happened to Aaron and what did Sun do with Ji Yeon? :o Aaron's the big mystery. Ji Yeon was with her grandmother as seen in the Little Prince episode
How did Hurley escape prison and why is Sayid in handcuffs? :o It looks like his career as an assassin caught up to him
Holy shit Frank Lapidus is back too. :o I hope he doesn't die like the Season 1 pilot-who was played by the dude from Heroes
:bow LOST :o :o :o :o :o :bow2
I really hope Ben didn't kill Penny, but what other motivation would Desmond ever have to going back to the island?I think Penny is okay, I'm judging by how distressed Ben was when he made the call to Jack, and by how thoroughly his shit got fucked up.

Decent episode, especially for a Kate centric episode.
Decent episode, especially for a Kate centric episode.
What about the final scene?Decent episode, especially for a Kate centric episode.
Absolute garbage, except OMG TEMPLE
So this show is good? I always had it pegged for a dramatic version of Gilligan's Island, but then I saw someone make a post about "Lost is a show you watch for the mythology." How much mythology can there be in a show about castaways? Maybe I'll watch the first few episodes. That's just the surface, dude. :lol
They are doing a lot of distinguished mentally-challenged things with the writing this year.

Yup, it looked like he was going to make another call as soon as Ben hung up on him.Apparently there was a secret group on the plane for a mission. Widmore's people again?
It makes sense. Ben told Widmore he was going to make it back to the island, so Widmore could have had some people follow him onto the plane just in case he really did make it.
Tonight was zzzzzz until the end with Smoke Alex fucking Ben up.Shut-up distinguished mentally-challenged fellow, go rewatch a Kate episode
316 and Whatever Happened, Happened > Dead is Dead. So sick of bitch Locke and "I had no idea. j/k. I knew all along and I'm going to kill you in a few minutes" Ben.
you've got the joke backwards, noob.
So, the reason Widmore got kicked off the island was because he left the island regularly and had a wife and kid outside? That's really lame. After seasons of suspense over what caused the Widmore/Ben rivalry, that's a pretty anticlimactic conclusion, unless there is a swerve later in the ep that I am not up to yet.I'm sure they'll probably be more to charles widmore departure then that. I think they'll probably be a big epic charles widmore flashback later in the series.
That was one of the things they had to cut out of S4 because of the writer's strike. Who knows if they'll ever touch that again?I remember someone saying that would be explored in s5, but at this point, i just dont care anymore, unless libby turns out to be really important to the mythology of the show.
They're twisting it like Widmore was the actual good guy and Ben is the real bad guy, wonder why Widmore got banished - and the woman he fucked to birth PennyNow they'll be no more charlie = CHARLES WIDMORE theories. :lol
Episode was fucking amazing.
That scene was really incredible what with its sub-1998 Video Toaster CG effects.
It's always been bad. It's a TV show, not a feature film. That scene was really incredible what with its sub-1998 Video Toaster CG effects.
I'm sort of wondering about this. Did the show get a massive budget cut, or has it always been this bad? I remember watching last season's finale and wondering if they forgot to pay the post production staff. The quality of the CG and the compositing craftsmanship was on a sci-fi original series level.

Juliet along with Sayid are confirmed not to be dying this season, actually.Good.

-2 week break for basically zero plot progression
-Contrived "variable" bullshit that came out of absolutely nowhere just so we could get...
Believe it or not, Jack's plan to uncrash Oceanic 815 may not be foolproof! "If you're wrong, everyone dies," says Kate. Not so much, it's just that one cascade of mistakes that leads to that one person tragically dying. Of course, someday we'll say that person's death was necessary and right, and that it closed certain important chapters in the story, and gave certain other season-six stories the launching pad they needed to really take off, but for now...it's going to suck. As we've said in the past, brace yourself for pain on the scale of Charlie's death.
This is one of the episodes that I would have been perfectly okay with the pacing if I were watching the entire season all at once, so I guess that isn't really a valid complaint. That's what I meant about them still finishing strong, because they're clearly setting up for the finale now.Quote-2 week break for basically zero plot progression
I'd say we definitely have plot progression. Daniel was going to blow up a "hydrogen bomb" (which we know of course is Jughead) so Jack and Kate will bring it up and use Dan's Journal for clues or help. Dharma is now gone to shit and Chang is evacuating the island.
Also, re: the comic-con videoYeah, unfortunately I didn't see them mention that in the LOSTpedia interview until after last night. I was just a little annoyed that Faraday gave up on convincing Chang after like 30 seconds of babbling nonsense.
The ARGs arent meant to be canon, they are more promotional than canon. Granted, some facts are true (ie. the Christianne finding the wreckage, but no mention of Sam), but the ARGs are meant to give an insight about what the season is about.
One more:But this is what bugs me. Here we have him saying, "Whatever happened, happened" for the past 13 episodes, and then out of the blue he has some radical epiphany that completely changes his outlook on time travel? This guy is supposed to be a super genius, yet even as his own theory on the rules are being proven (like him telling Charlotte to gtfo) he decides to go shoot up the Others' camp on some bullshit whim?Quote-Contrived "variable" bullshit that came out of absolutely nowhere just so we could get...
This is called irony. Dan thought he was a variable when his sudden realization came when he was shot and said "you knew this was to happen" - he was a Constant. Eloise believes in predetermined fate, Daniel believes in free will. Eloise won - "I sacrificed my son"
Another death coming upQuoteBelieve it or not, Jack's plan to uncrash Oceanic 815 may not be foolproof! "If you're wrong, everyone dies," says Kate. Seems cheap, but whatever.
Still better than Heroes :hyper
I thought the whole point was that he was wrong, and that his original conclusion about Desmond being "unique" was actually correct. Wouldn't "The Variables" be a more appropriate title otherwise?
And I still can't buy that Faraday just happened to forget half of the...uh...equation.
I guess I have to reserve judgment until the season is done. They really, really need a strong finish, though.
either way, lamest character death in lost everNothing beats this:
I'd imagine you can forget the smallest thing when dealing with equations and all of that jazz. Dont you forget to carry the 1 sometimes when doing Math Homework?:lol
I give the show a pass on Eko since the actor didn't want to do the show any longer, and they apparently had to change plans because of him. I won't hold him against the writers.I always wished they would have just had him die with the hatch explosion, but then I don't know the details about him wanting off the show, either.

Hurley's scene was amazing
why didn't you spoiler that? :-\
-Locke will invariably end up pussing out and sucking Jacob's undead wang.
Apparently the time travel phase of the show pretty much ends with Faraday's death, and season 6 is more reminiscent of the first season. Cheers to that, I say.Well, isn't there still the problem of getting the Losties for Dharma back in their normal timeline?

-Jack will detonate the bomb, causing the very "Incident" he was trying to prevent. Some shit happens as a result that catapults all the 815ers back to the present, and Richard thinks they all died because they disappear as if they were vaporized.
GAF Lost threads are so fucking creepy. Page 4 was just a bunch of pictures of babes. Which is like, whatever, cool, but that many, one after the other, is creepy. They're mostly just a bunch of drooling fanboys. Also, why doesn't Solo post in our LOST thread? Why do the GAFfots get all the attention? :'(
i want to see more of juliet's tits
-Kate will tell Sawyer and Juliet what Jack's planning and they will round up the whole gang to try to stop him.
-Juliet will probably get killed somewhere along the way, bringing back the tired Kate/Sawyer/Jack triangle.

-Kate and Jack will definitely survive (sadly).
Just posting these to see how many I get wrong -- I probably make less correct predictions than Konex.
Also, yum @ dem titties.
edit: fuck, new page, goddamnit, fml
I assume that will be the last kick at the can, but who knows. This season is supposed to end with a big plot twist, but you don't have to be a Lost freak to just assume that somehow or other they'll fail to prevent or actually cause the Incident then get booted to the present. If that's all that happens, that's hardly a big plot twist.Apparently the time travel phase of the show pretty much ends with Faraday's death, and season 6 is more reminiscent of the first season. Cheers to that, I say.Well, isn't there still the problem of getting the Losties for Dharma back in their normal timeline?
Most of this sounds plausible. On the Locke killing Jacob thing, I have no idea why Locke even thinks that Jacob can be killed, so I think John being unable to kill him is the outcome, not him sucking Jacob's wang.I kinda smirked when Locke said he was going to kill Jacob. I know they're trying to make him seem like a new man and all, but like you said, it seems silly that he decided such a thing is even possible.
I think the thing I like least about this season is its tendency to leave characters hanging for multiple episodes without giving us updates. Like when Sayid showed up (for basically no purpose) this week, I was like, Jesus, I don't even remember how many eps ago I last saw him. They did this with him, Desmond, and Dan (oddly enough, 3 of the best characters on the show) and probably others as well that I don't care so much about.
Although maybe that's all that'll happen with their storyline and the big twist will come with Locke/JacobI'm assuming this season will end with all of the characters being reunited and then running into that new group from the plane crash.
Have any of youze chodes seen THIS (http://maxpictures.com/weblog/2007/04/10/lost-labels-for-your-dharma-initiative-needs/)?
Good for you, predicting the events of a television show. That was a great season finale.

Locke actually came back to life once before, as seen in the flashback to his taking a swan dive from a tenth floor apartment, courtesy of our boy Jacob. Plus, it was Jacob that got the new group of people to come to the island in the first place, so it's probably not a coincidence that they brought the real Locke's body with them. Somehow I don't think we've seen the end of real Locke.
Sobek (also called Sebek, Sochet, Sobk, Sobki, Soknopais, and in Greek, Suchos) was the deification of crocodiles, as crocodiles were deeply feared in the nation so dependent on the Nile River. Egyptians who worked or travelled on the Nile hoped that if they prayed to Sobek, the crocodile god, he would protect them from being attacked by crocodiles.[1] The god Sobek, which was depicted as a crocodile or a man with the head of a crocodile was a powerful and frightening deity; in some Egyptian creation myths, it was Sobek who first came out of the waters of chaos to create the world.[1] As a creator god, he was occasionally linked with the sun god Ra.[1]
Jacob is not really a good guy, though.
jacob isn't a good guy
he totally didn't give a fuck about ben's daughter (or any other innocent) dying
"What about you?"
Good line, and a clue as to what he really is. There are two villains fighting each other here.
Interesting theory from elsewhere:
The rest of the Oceanic 6 are going to survive the blast and simply live for 30 years and meet up with the rest of the gang when the time is right. It wouldn't surprise me if they're chilling in the Temple. That's why Jacob touched them all. His touch gives immortality (Richard pretty much admitted it). So, they survived the Nuclear blast. Juliette didn't, cause she was never touched. After the bomb goes off, they're told by Jacob to wait, and show themselves after his death. That's what he means by "They're coming."
Super-Hero Jacob Squad vs. Locke would rule. As for the "DEN HOW DID LOCKE DIE SMART GUY?". He was off de island, mon.
I don't.
They sat in a temple for thirty-years? :lol
This was probably Lost's weakest season, but it was still better than all other shows on tv, includings Fringe.
