I can't even really put it into words. I was so blinded by nostalgia and how deeply that film cut into me, I can't even comment on it critically
And as I'm sure you're familiar with my history about my opinions on films
It's hard for even me to believe
that I have nothing to say about Toy Story 3
Basically, this movie stabbed me in every place my heart is weakest, and twisted the knife many, many times

Armond, you are an IDIOT! I'm so mad that Rotten Tomatoes counts crap like you as a review - Toy Story 3 deserves 100% positive reviews and you're the garbage that ruined that. I hope you're happy that virtually every single person that saw Toy Story 3 will now hate you.
This is my reaction to this film that I shared with my friend:QuoteBasically, this movie stabbed me in every place my heart is weakest, and twisted the knife many, many times
Together, Bonnie plays with Andy and her new toys and just at the end of the day, Andy finally leaves for college, but not before whispering a sincere "thank you" to the toys for all the great times and special memories.
Is there anything he actually likes?
Many people consider Finding Nemo to be Pixar's best film but I hated it. I can hate on this one too 8)
Is the misery of other people really that delicious?
I hated Toy Story 2 :yuck, is the reason why I have 0 interest in this one.

why do you have to take things so seriously?
Is the 3d version better?
I'm going to see it tomorrow with my brother and he hates 3d movies and wants to see the 2d version.
So the 3D is just an excuse to fleece parents out of $15
Saw the 2D version this afternoon with my free tickets from Toy Story 1/2 Blu-Rays, and it was great. Pixar just annihilates all the haters and all the posers (Dreamworks) every time they release a movie.spoiler (click to show/hide)When all the toys held hands when they thought they were about to die OMG :'([close]

Yeah, it was a "holy shit!" moment for sure. It was just pure Pixar magic, the kind no other studio can replicate. My friend summed it up the best:spoiler (click to show/hide)"Yeah, could you imagine that moment in a Dreamworks film? They would have found a way to escape by farting or there would have been a record scratch sound effect or something."

The Day & Night short before this was excellent. I think I enjoyed that more than just about anything else I've seen so far this year.

Could you tell me what the quote was from the radio tower? I thought I saw Steven King in the credits.
The voice is that of Dr. Wayne Dyer, taken from a lecture he gave in New York in the 1970's. Pixar honored Dr. Dyer's work by providing him with a private screening of the film. The director of the film incorporated the ideas taken from Wayne Dyer's lecture in order to show that the unknown can be beautiful and mysterious but doesn't have to be something to fear.
Such a beautiful quote. That quote alone put a lump in my throat.
:lol It's a movie about dolls, I'm sure that hits a sweet spot for you NERD
Jesus. Pixar flicks bring out the spastic manchild in some people.
Actually, I'd rather TS3 be just about kiddie bullshit. Toy Story was always for kids. I'm getting a bit tired of Pixar injecting darker themes into all their recent films just so to show that cartoons can be for adults too.
I wonder what's more sad, a 19 year old kid crying during Toy Story 3, or grown adults making fun of that kid for doing so?

Well, it's not like Toy Story 1 didn't have some pretty dark themes/moments.

Not to the same degree as Wall-E and UP.

I just don't understand what you're trying to say. That I'm too old? It's funny because when I try and be serious suddenly I'm just a kid, but when I want to enjoy being young I need to grow up. Oh you! :P
Isn't the movie about growing up and leaving childhood behind? If so i suspect all the blubbering manchildren are just sad they couldn't grow up.

If you're a normal, well-adjusted individual, the film has a rather uplifting message. If you're an immature manchild, I can imagine your brain will snap and force you into denial that your childhood is not actually over.
So, I shouldn't take kids to see this movie. Thanks Cheebs.Yeah, I'm getting worried about this now.
If you're one of those people who shelters kids and won't let them watch older Disney movies like Snow White, Pinocchio, or Fantasia; then don't let them watch this.well his favorite movie is bambi but I'm more worried about this being too emo.
Cheebs ruins everything.
It's more like I loved toys growing up as a kid and I loved that the imagination that I had in playing with them and looking back all of life's problems have kind of squandered it away. I miss being blissfully ignorant to the world around, but not to the point of trying to make that who I am now.
I don't understand how you can say Pixar appeals to 20-50 year old people, seeing as how Toy Story 3 is basically a love letter to the fans that grew up "with" Andy. And I did. With other Pixar films, sure it's different, but TS3 caters to a really specific crowd, I feel. Or maybe that's just me. Whatever. I can't say anything on this board without somebody picking it apart/making it sound stupid and subsequently making fun of it. I'm not sure why I try to defend myself here anymore.
spoiler (click to show/hide)I read that Sid made a return in Toy Story 3 (He's the garbage man). How accurate is this?[close]
So as a twenty-something -- but one who never had any attachment to Toy Story -- should I bother seeing this?

Do you like cg movies that are wholesome family fun with good laughs and enjoyable stories?

I can't believe people consider Monsters Inc third tier Pixar. Really? It's some of their best work.
Wait for blu-ray. No one like to see/hear three-year-olds in public places.
Are Japanese kids well-behaved or wild?
eh, so far its pretty dreamworksian. Also, it has some pretty stale stage direction compared to Wall-E and Up.It was made years before Wall-E and Up! It's not very dreamsworksian IMO because it causes you to actually care about the characters throughout the movie. Dreamworks is black and white good guy vs bad guy. and the humor is so so so awesome "they're rehearsing a musical" "she's out of our haaaaaaaaaaaaaair" oh and boo is so adorable.
Should I bother with the IMAX version?

I'm not saying its bad, but it is certainly hard to go back to that movie after seeing Pixar's latest ventures. And I don't know man, the one salamander monster is a pretty one dimensional villain.
It's still real good, but I'd say it still falls under my original rating.
well, I'm not heartful. seriously though, if they wanted that end of childhood stuff to not feel forced than they should have shown it happening to Andy when he was like 11 or 12. I can't believe that a 17 year old is going to be so attached to a toy.
i kinda side with loony-ass am nintenho, here. it was a snore.
When I have a child I'm going to raise them on Ayn Rand :tophat
nintenho: The toy represents memories and a different life than teen/college life. It also represents an ability, to imagine and have fun with objects that are inanimate but for which you supply the story/adventures. The loss of being able to get lost in that world or the distance since you've last done so is a loss of ability. It is not just attachment to a toy. That is one way that I see it.Only a couple scenes in the movie focused on that and it always felt forced since no 17 year old is going to care that he once had an imagination when playing with inanimate objects.
leper prole, etoilet, am nintenho :'( :-\ :maf
Animated short Day and Night was awesome too. I remember watching and realizing Pixar has done what Disney could not: integrate 3D and 2D animation in a way that works WELL together. Which made me feel so proud of Pixar especially having viewed the "Tangled" trailer right before.
Tangled was originally a 2D animated feature with 3D hair, cloth, etc. Disney couldn't get a handle on it so they switched it completely to 3D. That's why it's taken so long for it to come out.
i liked cars better when it was doc hollywood
Ratatouille >>>>> TS3???
and I haven't even seen TS3.

Up is the only Pixar film I've truly enjoyed and would see it again. The others were decent enough but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch them, they're pretty interchangeable
Medicore pixar film >>>>> crappy dreamworks one....Sound the alarm! My childhood is redeemed, I can finally have pride around adults.
lol at thinking entering college is leaving childhood :lol
fucking Andy. little brat gets a joyride through college plowing fat bitches and taking shots from some bro's asshole and he thinks he's a man. pfftlol at thinking entering college is leaving childhood :lol
lol indeed. Getting a job and fucking paying bills and realizing that's what life is, that's leaving childhood.
depends on the college experience! When you have an asian dude as your roommate trying to self-suck himself while you're still in the room, I think that qualifies as fully tarnishing any shred of childhood innocence that you have left
No I think he was saying that you leave your childhood way before you get to high school.lol at thinking entering college is leaving childhood :lollol indeed. Getting a job and fucking paying bills and realizing that's what life is, that's leaving childhood.
No. I was saying that college is still all about being a safely coddled manchild for the majority of people who are in attendance.

Fuck i would even go so far as to say that college is a regression after highschool.
Fuck i would even go so far as to say that college is a regression after highschool.
I wouldn't go that far. I just found myself at a high school party and was shocked at how immature it was.
smh, this thread.
