Sorry, but anybody saying "only one weapon is good" didn't figure out how to play. I tried three of the four options, and consistently came in in the top two slots on my team. It's about how you use the weapons, not the weapons themselves.
I had a lot of fun. Could it get boring after a while? Totally possibly. But the whole "paint the stage" aspect adds a really unique strategy twist that a lot of the "just shoot people" players are going to totally fail at. This isn't Gears of War or whatever.
It definitely isn't just painting the stage, though. Helping to control the other team and making sure they aren't gaining territory is an equal mix of smart thinking and taking them out to slow down their progress.

What is up with racing games these days that are all about going in straight lines really fast with very few curves in the road.
It's more about passively watching scenery whizz you by at high speeds than it is about racing. No challenge or depth whatsoever.

It's just the other two (Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle equivelents) are complete useless shitshows with no real benefits.
The main issue with the roller is that it has the same movement speed of other weapons, has better ink coverage. Has the same range as the Splattergun Jr. whenever you use the stomp attack and is pretty much an instant kill if you are even close to another player. Why bother with another class when you can just roll around at speed, cover the ground and fuck over the other team by covering the flat ground choke points. First team to do that is usually the one that wins.

I almost never do this (meaning go into a thread for a system I don't own and talk about a game on it), but the gaf hype on this game baffles me. I watched a few videos of it yesterday and it seemed kind of repetitive and boring. Like if this was out on any other system, it would be like an xbla psn title that people would be luke warm on.
That's a somewhat silly thing for me to say since I haven't it played it and maybe when you actually play it, the fun factor comes into play more which is the case with some games but on the outside looking in, the only way I would play it, is if it was a free to play title.
Maybe some who is really into it can explain the appeal for me without Nintendo goggles.

I think they should have delayed this to get it polished up and have all the "DLC" ready to go on the disc for release. oh jesus christ why the fuck do I like this gameBecause it's actually a neat little mp shooter. The entire "paint the level" mechanic really does offer some fun well paced and hectic "tug of war" battles. Constantly, moving and controlling the frontline is actually pretty fun. The squid stuff also allows for some cool movement gameplay. It's an actual alright game.
Some people just want to rag on the game, but it's not like they've played it.
