Like I said, Transformers was distinguished mentally-challenged even when I was a little kid. I never watched the 80s iteration of Chipmunks, though, so I can't speak for that.

As far as 1980s half hour commercials, GI Joe > Transformers. But I am smart enough to realize that going to a GI Joe movie based on the series would be completely and totally distinguished mentally-challenged.

Of the 80s nostalgia rehashes coming up, I think only Speed Racer stands a decent chance to be decent. Well, that's really the test to see if the Wachowski Bros. are the biggest flukes in cinema. Of all their films, only The Matrix is good, and that reeks of other folks working on it. V for Vendetta was pretty enjoyable, but how much of that was them? I guess Speed Racer will tell us.

It's gossip and hearsay, but who knows. Again, Speed Racer will tell us. Their filmography is almost universally awful to mediocre, save for The Matrix and I think we can thank script doctors and a reigned in production for that.
