ffc stopped making worthwhile movies after apocalypse now.
that's the point. Youth Without Youth is strongly being considered his likely return to form.

i guess we'll see. all i know is that he hasn't made a great movie in almost 30 years.
I enjoyed his Dracula film that he did in the 90's.

Still waiting for No Country For Old Men and especially There Will Be Blood to redeem this otherwise shitty year.

This year's winter lineup should make up for any early season transgressions, particularly those two, The Darjeeling Limited, American Gangster, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

The lack of Death Proof or Grindhouse in general in this thread is pathetic.

1. Children of Men*
2. Knocked Up
3. Hot Fuzz

...

300
Live Free or Die Hard
Grindhouse
Zodiac

...

...

POTC3

*Children of Men is by far the best movie I saw this year, so even though it's technically a 2006 film, it needs to be on this list since I saw it this so-far-piece-of-shit year.

Once is currently my favorite move of 2007, but that will change as more films are released.

Other movies I've enjoyed so far this year are (in no order):

The Namesake
Paprika
Ratatouille
Transformers
Paris Je T'aime
The Host
Knocked Up
Hot Fuzz
La Vie en Rose.

No one else saw The Host when it was in theaters earlier this year? Absolutely awesome monster movie from South Korea, you should check it out when it hits video later this month.

Willco hasn't seen Knocked Up?! For shame Willco! For shame! Knocked Up is pretty much my counter argument to watching any of the low grade blockbusters. Like eating an apple after snarfing down 4 Baconators

I don't see films alone in theaters.  It's my rule of thumb.  And I was paid for when I saw Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Live Free or Die Hard.  I also got a free ticket when I paid to see Transformers.  It's just easier to get people to go to or be invited to event films rather than romantic comedies, children's movies and smaller flicks.

Also, considering the price of tickets these days, I'd rather spend the money to see these low brow, popcorn flicks in DLP with incredible digital sound - it's arguably the best thing they have going for them.  Stuff like Knocked Up won't rely on theatrical presentation to make it enjoyable and I can buy it on DVD for the cost of one movie ticket practically.

I've gone to see movies by myself. Moral of the story: don't be a pussy.

1. Death Proof
2. Hot Fuzz
3. Knocked Up.
4. Planet Terror

SO FAR.
