Harry fingerbangs Luna and she gets pregnant with Voldemort's baby because that's how Wizards breed.

I liked it. It felt kind of weird finishing it, as I'd been looking forward to the end since I was in elementary school. Kind of depressing. But yeah, it was much better than I thought it would be.

? It leaked on the internet 4-5 days ago. Someone stole a copy of the book and took a picture of every single page on their digital camera. I thought you'd seen the multi-page threads on both GAF and here.

I thought it was the best one out of all them because there was no fluff. Everything in the book was pertinent to the main plot so it never seemed like it dragged.

I went to Waldenbooks (a Borders company) tonight with my best friend to get the book. I don't read HP but she does, and didn't want to go alone. She opened it as soon as we got outside because she wanted to know if Harry lived or died.

I have read the series and also have no life, so if you have any questions, post away. I'll be up pretty late. And I know you want to read the spoiler above Himuro, but don't. Resist the temptation.

My local newspaper, for some reason, posted all the spoilers in the book in reverse type.

So although nearly all of the names mean nothing to me, I am now well equipped to spoil Harry Potter for anyone. :lol

I just finished the book. I kinda figured I'd cry. I've read the books for 7 or 8 years, and they have always been special to me. The characters Rowling created are timeless for me. I enjoyed each book, but right now I would say the Deathly Hallows is the best of the series. Very few books stir such strong emotions in me, and this book did the job. From having a beating heart as I flipped pages, certain someone would die (chapter 4) to simply smiling while crying as I read the epilogue...wow. I can't think of anything else to say. I'm happy, yet I'm sad at the same time. Tomorrow I'll start combing over the book like the guys at GAF are, but right now I'm content. I can't believe it's over :'(

Yeah, I'm sort of peeved that JK couldn't, you know, REWRITE the thing considering her writing has improved infinitely since she wrote it along with the first book.

I just finished TDH tonight.  What a great series.  Forget all the haters, especially those who have never read the books.  I with you, PD, I'm kinda sad its over too.  I can't wait to reread the series.  Book 6 and 7 were my favorites and I hope they translate well as movies.

She DID rewrite it. Originally it included many more details, but she thought that was a bad idea. It's intentially vague.

I am still reading it. It's pretty good but overall, it's pretty silly. Ron is a cigarillo. Why did it take them 3-4 months to realize they should go to Godric's Hollow? That was the first place they should have went. I'm at Godric's Hollow now.

This is the first HP book I have not read completely within a week. It still hasn't grabbed me. HP without Hogwarts is zzz.

Yeah, and they spent September - December wandering in random places just hoping to find something, acting like there's no clues at all when fucking Godric's Hollow should have been the first place they went after leaving the ministry and getting the Horcrux.

Right. Ron left uh......close to the beginning of the school year. Harry and Hermione decided to go off on their own and travel to random places for months on end from September to fucking December. Ron, by that point, was a non issue. Harry should have stuck his tubesteak up her pooper by then, and talked some sense in to the bitch.

Let's see, go to Godric's Hollow or travel to random places for 3 months. Hmmm. This tells me that the characters have not developed or wisened up at all. Ron in particular.

They go to Godric's Hollow a few days after Ron leaves. You're overstating the time factor.

I understand what you're saying about the lack of traditional plot elements. That's on of the things I mentioned in complaint while reading the book. You get so used to Hogwarts details as well as other things like Christmas that their absence is jarring. But after while I forgot all about that, especially as the plot began to reveal itself.

Just like Snape, but to a lesser extent.

Oh, and Percy taking on Thicknesse was great!

Yup.

After reading the book it's clear Snape is the hero of the entire series, alongside Harry. Truly amazing.

He doesn't leave right before they go to Godric's Hollow. The book didn't give many clues about time until they reached Godric's Hollow, at which time, it was Xmas.

I'm "upset" because a lot of charm in previous books that I really liked is pretty much non existent and replaced with petty story telling.
That shit became way too repetitive and formulaic. I was glad it was changed up a bit. Granted, the same could be said for the "go somewhere, end up narrowly escaping"-esque events, but at least it was entertaining.

Yeah that was very entertaining. I totally forgot about the more traditional stuff once the true adventures started. It was like MGS with magik :lol

If you don't think the forth chapter was freaking amazing there's something wrong with you

The 4th chapter was not anything amazing. It was fun. Otherwise, it full of needless deaths.

The "needless deaths" were included to create an accurate portrayal of war. What were you expecting for this book?

Some people at GAF were complaining about the quick deaths too, saying there needed to be more details. It was a war guys, there was no time to stop fighting and mourn the dead, or magically view every death considering the size of the battlefield and Harry's absence from the front line

Almost done with the book. Second half is amazing. I've been reading all day. Around page 300 or so it finally got GOOD.

Should be done within the hour or so.

Weird. I think I'm the only one that didn't even mind the middle of the book.

The middle wasn't bad at all. To me the only problem was that I felt it was moving too slow. I thought they needed to hurry up and get all these horcruxes and shit, but in reality the plot began to really expand to even more interesting stuff. Also...

When Ron left my spirits actually went down a bit. I understood his reasoning for leaving, and in some ways he was right; while Harry was obsessed about what he had to do (horcruxes) Ron was also thinking as a big brother ought too (Ginny's safety), not to mention the rest of his family's safety. His reappearance was pretty damn awesome, and evolved his character. Before that his "heroic" actions were few and far between. In many ways that entire scene was like a baptism of Ron's character, and he began to put away the old Ron and really become Harry's peer.

The aftermath of chapter 4 was kinda boring (prepping for the wedding) at times, but still enjoyable for the character prose.
