The Nolan take is more realistic, which is why Joker doesn't look like a clown. That being said...I agree with TVC. That character is based on his appearance, and even his darkest moments in the comics feature him with the white/green look.

It's not going to distract me I guess, but overall I would have liked something different. They could have at least made him look sick, not just some dude with bad face paint.

Well Ra's and Scarecrow in Begins did not look like their comic versions (need I mention the bat mobile as well?), I don't expect Nolan to keep with comic designs when he never has in the first place. Despite the Joker being iconic. Nolan does his bat films very unrestrained. There is not a lot of pressure from DC as there is with Marvel on marvel based films. He is free to do a far looser adaptation.

Duh, I am just saying why he did it. DC is far more hands-off than Marvel.

Are they really? Marvel didn't seem to mind how different the X-men looked in the movies.

joker in a interrogation room kind of looks gay.

I have a feeling that this is going to be worse then batman begins which wasn't as good as the burton batmans because the burton ones made joker the murderer of batman's parents and seeing batman in a murderous rage at the end of the movie is the ONE thing that made him my favorite comic hero as a kid.  I think  I think I heard the bale batman's are based on what the comic book's said but the storytelling of the burton ones just seemed better.
