I've worked on some crap before.  Believe me.  What i was saying is I try to turn a critical eye towards everything I play, rather than treat it as a recreational activity.

I've argued against the anti-Smash brigade plenty of times that it's far less daunting to get people to play a game with sanitized Nintendo mascots and a healthy heaping of nostalgia (especially my fellow 80's kids) than it is to get them to play something like VF5, with its myriad of button combinations and unfamiliar characters. Not too many people play fighters hardcore anymore, there is no arcade culture so to speak near me... I could go and play in Chinatown and get some excellent competition I'm sure, but I dunno... going all the way to the city to play arcade games seems kinda impractical.

tekken's pretty boring.  I honestly think nintendo fans hyped SC2 more than SSBM, I played the xbox and gc versions and Link was definitely more fun to use than spawn.  maybe he was just more technical but with link I could finish most fights in one try while it would take probably 2 tries with spawn (due to special circumstances of match/lack of experience against a certain fighter).

I really find that Panel de Pon DS is fucking broken online. You can stack on your opponent indefinitely, but as long as he's able to do SOMETHING, he lives. I think it helps me actually, as most people use the stylus and I still beat them just using the d-pad.
