I had an idea for a game similar to this after watching the last battle of Saving Private Ryan one day. It was a strategy game / FPS where you were given an intelligence report containing an estimate of the enemy forces you faced along with their current position and movement. And possible deployments against you. You'd then set a general strategy giving teams (which can consist of only one person) tasks, setting their positions, fall-back points, etc. before the battle. During the battle you'd fight in first person mode as any of your men while being able to jump back to your commander to make battle adjustments (but word can only be passed if people are in range to hear you or you have to send messengers/radio). There'd be some sort of unit management too involving morale and other factors. It would be a really cool game to play but the requirements are absurd, especially for a strategy game.
