I Love Conservative Bloggers
« on: September 09, 2007, 11:37:42 AM »

Quote from: Mbecker
If you think that the anti-American and anti-military drumbeat that have come from Reid, Pelosi, Murtha, Durbin and the rest of the elected Democratic Party elite isn't supporting Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden's goals, your head will never see sunlight.

In a civilized society the leadership of the Democratic Party would have been hung (following the appropriate trial) several years ago. They are utter, complete, disgusing filth. I'm hoping to live long enough to be able to urinate on their graves.

Quote from: pagar
Mbecker, Another outstanding post but you left out Kerry and Kennedy, who IMO are always at the top of any list of Democrats who do not support America. But the rest of your message is outstanding.

I think it's great how even the few minor oversights in the original post get corrected with help from others --- with enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow!  A perfect illustration of why the free marketplace of ideas embraced by conservatives will always triumph over the libs' dogmatic PC centralism.

After I read the transcript of the latest Bin Laden tape I knew it would be a matter of time before it was used against democrats and liberals. From a strategic standpoint it wouldn't be hard to say "the democrats agree with Osama". Not that I believe that, but some of the points he made fall in line with liberal positions. But of course saying "dems agree with Osama" is meant to suggest something far more sinister. It's smart Rove spin, but it's dishonest

There are many liberals who don't understand the threat of terrorism. There are many liberals who don't believe in terrorism. These people may seem to have a prominent voice if you're looking at the internet messageboard poster demographic, but on a national level they're quite small - no matter what Alex Jones would have us believe.

Reid's statement that "the war is lost" was not an admission of defeat, but a diagnosis of the situation. Today the situation is slightly different. From a military standpoint the surge is working in many areas. The problem is the political situation within Iraq. That's what needs to be addressed, but as of right now there has been very little progress. Quickly "Pulling out" would only signal an immediate disaster, but staying there guarentees a gradual one.

Agreed. Hillary the democrat that the majority of the democratic party want to elect (as of right now) is very hardline on terrorism, more so than some of the republicans running.

That's one of the things I like about her. While her flip flopping on Iraq annoys me, one can't deny that she understands foreign policy. I don't agree with many "liberal" positions on Iraq, and neither does Hillary; iirc she has never taken a strong position on pulling troops out immediately.

To go along with that I was pretty surprised Bill was willing to say on 'Letterman this week that he felt the surge has brought about some military progress (but stressed the real issue is political progress). Bill even said he feels different now than he did in the 90's about the military size and now wants to expand the military.

I remember when the surge started and GAF was quick to dismiss it. Talk about eating your hat. But as expected people have simply moved the goal stick farther in order to negate the one success story from this war in 2007.

You see it in congress now as the dems are already dismissing the progress report. You can't put all your eggs in the same basket so soon; to make matters worse, it's not like the democrats have the power or will to end the war.

Uh, what?  The surge has met almost none of the goals it was supposed to.  How is the surge working?

Weren't you the one who spent months telling everyone that 9/11 conspiracy theorists were a large part of the Democratic base and a danger to take over the party, based on your experiences at the Randi Rhodes boards?

Also, seconding Patel.  The surge has worked so well, people are talking about removing Maliki.  Cause he's presiding over too much progress, I suppose.

If I ever said they were a "large" part of the base I was wrong; they're a prominent part of the faar left but as you know, the far left doesn't represent the entire party. IIRC I said something similar to that, but...I don't recall ;)

I don't recall ever hating Hillary...

I don't like Hillary. Her flip flopping on Iraq was ugly, I hate her botched attempts to appeal to the morality crowd with various big government committees (think gaming), I'm not a fan of her health care ideas...but

She's the best of the three major dem candidates. I like her practical approach to the current Iraq pullout discussion. I love most of her positions on foreign policy as relating to terrorism. I think she's the most qualified of the three top candidates. Right now my favorite candidate is Biden, but we all know he's not going to win.

I'm still secretly rooting for Obama to right the ship and impress me though; I'll vote for Hillary in the general election, but I'm going for Obama in the Michigan primary. Bros before hoes

obama is solid. I have been saying that if it is Obama vs. Ron Paul it would be a fantastic election, because either candidate would be great. Although the libertarian i me would make me vote for Ron Paul.

That fucking internet meme is long dead drop it please.

Also I will take it one step further than PD, Obama LOST my vote after doing meh at all the debates, Hillary earned my vote from those and as of today is who I plan to vote for in the primaries.

I would agree. The internet is really changing poltics as we know it, and the left is using it far better than the right imho. But, I also cannot help but feel that this movement is slowly moving the party further left. The 911 Inside Job movement is gaining a lot of steam, the anti DLC movement has been in effect for awhile now, etc. The left doesn't seem to understand that politics, in many ways, is still a game. And running the John Kerrys/DuCockis/etc of the world is still not a good idea. Republican-lite is bad, I would agree. But wacko-lite is just as bad.

Can we please get an explanation of this statement?  I'm willing to believe an "I was huffing glue" excuse, if that's the direction you want to take it.

I already said I was wrong Mandark. Or do you want to continue digging up posts from months ago?

I could spend the next 10 minutes digging up old posts on the surge, but I'm not going to waste my time (ie I have class in 10minutes). At the end of the day my post speaks for itself. The surge has worked on a military level, but as I said it's not the solution to the real problem in Iraq. I doubt you disagree with my position

No, I don't want to read any more of your posts.

I want you to stop posting about politics until you're through this awkward intellectual puberty.  Or, if you MUST keep going, drop the declarative tone, because it's not a good look if you're going to make ludicrous factual claims every half-dozen posts, or take positions that you'll completely reverse in a few months.

Until you get your shit together, qualifiers are your friends.

Declarative tone? So far you haven't even challenged my post, just criticized me for god knows what. I'm not an expert on any of this, I'm merely giving my opinion - based on the facts. If you don't like it, you're more than welcome to debate instead of attempting to insult my intelligence (or lack thereof).

Nah, if you have a history of making dumb statements and you're making dumb statements now, I'm free to tell you to shut up before you make more.

And if you haven't been following the controversy about the violence statistics, or the US switching sides in Anbar, I'm not about to hold your hand and walk you through it.
