We've been spending more than we take in with both hands for a while now. But only recently has paying the interest on all that debt really started to cost us very much money.

The United States has piled up a string of monthly trade-deficit records recently. The July 2006 deficit of $68.04 billion, for example, erased the October 2005 deficit of $66.6 billion. For all of 2005, the United States spent $717 billion more on goods and services than it took in -- also a record. So far, 2006 is on a pace to handily surpass that deficit: The January-July 2006 deficit hit $453 billion, way ahead of the $398 billion deficit in the corresponding period of 2005.

At the same time, the U.S. government has been spending more than it took in. Since 2001, the federal government, certainly not the only layer of government practicing deficit financing, has borrowed $1.3 trillion to pay for tax breaks, new Medicare drug benefits and the war in Iraq.

Haven't seen it in years. I was probably not even a teenager when I saw it last, but I vaguely remember it's awesomeness. I was mistakenly under the impression that the DVD was out of print, so when I saw it in the store I snatched it up - YOINK. Then I checked online later and the supply is plentiful everywhere.

I just bought a brand new Buffalo LCD monitor for use with my XBox 360 last night. It looks so nice, and feels much bigger compared to the cheap older monitor I was using before.

Thursday I'm picking up Tenchu Senran for the 360 (it's already paid for with the points I got from buying the monitor, awesome) and likely Gundam Battle Royale.

Yeah so I found out STARGATE IS OUT NEXT WEEK WTF! THEN I FOUND OUT I CANT READ AND POWERSTONE COLLECTION IS END OF THE MONTH WTF.

However I got Sam's town, and fuck the haters, I like this cd a lot. Im still deciding if I like it more than Hot Fuss.

As for my entertainment spending, I only go after good deals, I dont spend THAT much on entertain..wait yeah I do. Sorta the joy of being single I guess. I still have lots of bills, a pet, food gas all that, but the rest of my money is for me to go wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I bought this Nepalese coat for $20 while on holiday last month. It's really nice and I love it, but it's fallen apart in so many places I think the secret is to not buy Nepalese coats that are actually made in Nepal.

The Slayers TV series (including Next and TRY) is probably my favorite anime ever. Fun lovin adventure before the harem trend but new enough to be pretty funny.

As soon as work's over, I'm heading down to Yamada Denki to see what else came out today, and also to be astonished at the ludicrously-priced DVDs. Even m0rphix would be too poor to buy everything that comes out over here.

There's a lot of good manga out there. I recently started reading a series called "Ping Pong Dash," about a high school yankee (kind of like a punk) that gets into playing table tennis for lots of stupid reasons. Being in Japan, I can see how there are, unfortunately, so many interesting-looking comics out there that will never make it out in English. It's a real shame.

I agree about anime though; there really seems to be nothing too appealing out. I am looking forward to Fist of The Blue Sky though.

It's a good thing I get paid well. I have to curb my spending now though, need to save up for moving, and I still have to put $600 toward my Macbook.
