Just don't go in the GAF halo 3 thread and make sure you're gamertag isn't in the GAF gamertag thread and you'll probably not miss out. From what I seem to have heard, the spoilers are pretty long so hearing/reading a couple of words won't spoil it.

halo 3 is so damn ubiquitous that it's hard for me to be hyped about it anymore. i just want to play it. if it can bring back the magic of halo 1 in both single player and multiplayer, then i will be a happy man.

That should be the closing shot of the game - Master Chief's helmet visor slides back and you finally get to see his face. A tear is rolling down his cheek because he had to kill Cortana, his forbidden love. Forbidden because A) She was a hologram, and B) They castrate the Spartans so they aren't distracted from the killing by wanting to fuck all the alien chicks they have to kill. Anyway, he's crying over Cortana, and then you see him stick the Slurpee Straw in his mouth. It's a Game Fuel Slurpee. The scene fades to the sounds of Master Chief sucking up his Slurpee, and the credits roll.

I picked this up this past Tuesday in New York and completed it yesterday on Heroic. The campaign is pretty awesome. It's easily better than 1 and 2's combined. Halo fans are in for a treat.

I certainly hope that the levels will be a bit more memorable this time. I don't remember a single moment in Halo 2. It's the only fps game that has ever done that.

I got to play a crapload of campaign mode today (Japan broke street date on the US import edition lol). The game is pretty sweet so far, lots of next-genny goodness. I won't spoil you but there are some parts where you hit these huge, ridiculously expansive areas with bad dudes EVERYWHERE and you sit back and go "Hmmmmmmm how am I gonna even think about doing this" (there's a great one of these in the first level).

Did some 3-player co-op over System Link (brought my 360 over to my friend's house) and it worked a treat. We're gonna have to play on Legendary because we were Ramboing through on Heroic (three or four dudes at once makes things CONSIDERABLY easier).

I think it's a swell game and if you go out of your way to whine about jaggies or something you're a great big douche.

Evilore just said yesterday that Halo sucks without stating why. Most people would get instant banned for saying something like that about Killzone even though it's true. It's amusing to see how scared the SDF is though.

just out of curiosity: which games have ''next-gen animation?''

mgs4's animation is pretty good and really improved over the tgs2k6 trailer.

definitely. animations are kind of ass this generation. the leap was not that huge, at least not yet. the only thing about cod4's animations is that the death animations are pretty glitchy. but that will probably be fixed? the running animations are bad ass though. same thing with weapon change and reload.

I think some games are putting a lot more effort this gen in animation but it's stupid because the game with the best animation is an fps where it doesn't matter as much. the death animations do glitch a lot in cod4 now that I think about it. I'm more worried about watching yourself get killed in a kill-cam and it doesn't show you shooting when you are.
