So a few months ago I had a falling-out with this fellow JET who works as a coordinator of international relations at the board of education. We used to be buddies but there was a...situation...which ended up with both of us exchanging words and not speaking to each other.

Last year I invited her to my school's culture festival and she had a good time. The festival is tomorrow, but I'm about 60% sure she can't make it. I don't really want to see her, but I figure if I invite her, it would sort of be a way of easing tensions and resuming normal relations, even if she can't make it. This would be good for me since she works at the board of education (which I'm an employee of) and I'm not particularly angry at her anymore. On the other hand, if I miscalculate and she says "Yes" I'll be in charge of showing her around and I don't think I want to spend the whole day with her. $:-\$

Whut should I do?

Holding grudges is never a good idea, unless it's a family member. I say let it be: invite her, have a good time, and when you feel comfortable say "hey, about what happened between us...I'm sorry, I just...yeah. I was really dumb. Want to go out for sushi?"

lol, I already apologized for that like five or six months ago and she was a complete bitch about it and even sent me a nasty e-mail the day after.

But anyway, yeah, I e-mailed her. I hope she says no. Or even better, I hope she doesn't read it until it's too late and misses out on the school festival.

Just ignore her. What's the point of making amends when she was still mad at you and you don't really want to be friends with her anymore?

I already pointed out that she works at the board of education and it thus might be advantageous to be on her good side. The last thing I need is having her talking shit about me to my bosses at the BOE.
