i really liked rushmore, and i was amused by a life aquatic despite its awkward narrative and pacing. hated royal tenenbaums and bottle rocket (erik wolpaw of old man murray was browbeating people to see that one at qt3 for like a year), though. i hated both lost in translation and marie antoinette, so wes anderson >>>>>>>>>> sofia coppola, by a vast gulf. willco is right for a change: wes anderson is the arty version of kevin smith. like kevin, wes makes only one type of movie: the tongue-bulging-in-cheek quirkathon. that said, i also like a couple of kevin's films, too. they're the wii of directors: a cute gimmick grossly overextended.
