I think my Xbox is RRODing straight out the box  :'( It wont turn on or make a noise or anything and theres 3 flashing red lights, the light in the middle stays gren tho... is this the RROD?

Plug the Component (R G B colored cables) into the component slots on your HDTV, and the red and white cables into a audio slot. Make sure you flick the switch on the cables to HDTV

I bought what used to be called the 'premium pack' has an HDD and comes with component cables with a little switch on them. I switched it to HD and connected all the cable by colour correctly, the system just wont even switch on. Im fairly confident its fucked, after seeing the wiki article

Does your 360 have HDMI?  If it doesn't, then it's the older unreliable version.  Fucking MS should just recall all the old unreliable 360s.

Think about how much that would cost.  Better to deal with them on a case-by-case basis as they fuck up and explode.

It's still costing them just as much since they've been forced by the negative press to extend the warranty to 3 yrs.  The only difference between the recall and the extended warranty is that MS gets a bad rep in addition to the cost.

360 is a fucking worthless POS with its unreliability and its insanely loud DVD-ROM drive, these factors ruin the whole experience.

A Windows-powered PC with a 8800 GTS will be my base gaming platform for this gen. Once you remove the PC ports there are so few true 360 exclusives left anyway. And the multiplatform games are 60 FPS+ with all the effects cranked up to the max unlike most of the bullshit 30 FPS, sub 720p titles of this gen. It's easy to get a DVI to HDMI cable too for HDTV use.

360 is becoming "that white rectangular hair dryer which will play Mass Effect 8 months in advance and Mistwalker's awesome RPGs" real fast in my case

lol so true. Why get a game on an inferior, unreliable horrible matchmaking system game on a console, when you can get it on PC? Looks better, plays better, has a MUCH superior matchmaking ability, and you can get awesome mods.

uninstalling the program and putting Kaspersky in its place did the trick

since then I get top performance on anything with all the effects maxed out, as it should be
