They seem to think that putting exclusive content in a PSP game that can only be achieved if you play with someone with a PSP and the same game is realllllly cool. I say FUCK YOU to that.

Its ridunculous that a good portion of the new items in the PSP FFT port can only be achieved via Multi player ADFUCKENHOC mode. I mean, INFRASTRUCTURE bitches, its there for a reason. FUCK YOUUUUUU

FFTA sucks. I'd rather take a gimped, stupid multiplayer items on FFTpsp than another shitty animu'd up FFT.

Awaiting Tactics Ogre psp. It's gotta happen sometime. How can the most influential srpg take the backseat?

Eh, FFTA was easy, but I'll take it over FFT.  FFT was fine--great even--at the time, but today that interface is on the AUSCHWITZ TRAIN TO TOILET TOWN.  FFTA may be extremely fucking simple, but it's a fast play, and at least its difficult is consistent, unlike FFT's I'M GONNA LOCK YOU IN A SERIES OF LINKED BATTLES SO YOU CAN'T GRIND AND RAPE RAPE YOU!  And there are too many useless classes.  And the new translation sucks, too.  I'll take bad translation with some funny and awesome lines over the "look at me I'm trying too hard" shit of the retranslation.

FFTA is the definition of redundant classes. Hell, FFTA2 has 56. They obviously didn't get it.

I'm no great defender of FFTA, mind you (or Tactics Ogre GBA, natch), but at least they are fast and easy to play.  That goes a long way in my book.

and this shitty port just showed you how the game aged badly compared to recent SRPG titles like Disgaea for example.

Fuck no.  Reviewers aren't.  I should know better, but I could fucking HEAR my eyes rolling when I read that Game Informer gave it a 9.5.  And Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness a 9.  That's way high for both games, but please, reviewers, stop taking hits from the nostalgia pipe lest people actually believe that FFT is actually within 3 fucking points of that score.

I don't think reviewers nowadays give a shit about how good or bad the game is.

they just see the holy Square-Enix logo and the title gets 8+ easily (this applies to other game companies as well).

Is FFT really animu? I mean, the characters don't look much like animu characters and the story is hardly animu. By comparison FFTA is a level away from Sailor Moon. They have a fucking snowball fight.

It's animu all the way. Instead of kids fighting kids and kids fighting monsters, you have adults fighting adults and adults fighting monsters. Um. You just said it yourself. Nobody wants to play as a bunch of kindergarteners using snowballs to fight and creating worlds from videogames because everyone hates them. There is a reason why FFT distinguishes itself among the rest of the series.

FFT's story may become totally non nonsensical, but it's got mother fucker's tearing crap up and war. There's a difference between that and some fairyland some kid made up from Fainaru Fantashii XII or some random claptrap like that.

And yes you are misunderstanding the term animu. You may want to play as 5 year olds who have double d tits, but I don't.

I think there's a distinguishable difference between the characters in Persona and the characters in FFTA. For one thing they don't have SNOWBALL fights.

Who cares if FFT, Vagrant Story, FFXII, and FFTA are in the same universe? That doesn't mean FFTA's story can't be shit. FFXII's story sucked balls.

The original FFT is definitely animu.  The character designs are stylized, but they are still bobbleheads, and the story is a cousin of the Xenogears/standard issue JRPG THE CHURCH IS EVIL plotline.

But yes, FFTA is moreso animu.

FFTA is a steaming pile of shit compared to FFT and I don't think FFT is very good anymore.  It doesn't have slowdown when using spells/abilities but I do remember the AI taking a while to move.  The story and dialog is worse than Advance Wars, the law system is annoying, and the whole package just feels cheap and dumbed down.

FFT's new translation is great.  It's only trying too hard in a handful of places.  And the story as a whole comes down to the church is evil but I dig the class warfare beginning and political intrigue over the succession to the king after his death.
