That was three years ago, and now, it's happening again. San Diego is surrounded by out-of-control fires. The air quality is horrendous. The sky is bright red. My mentor at work just packed his family and some photo albums into their van, with no idea where to go.

Boy this certainly calls for a Garfield "I HATE MONDAYS" jpg, doesn't it?

I'm not sure, that was just the exact wording used in an e-mail from my mother when I got home. I guess the authorities auto-called him and everyone in the neighborhood to tell them to evacuate. He's staying at a friend's house (likely one of his wife's family members - she's Filipino, so she has a million family members) 'till this all blows over or his home is burnt on fire.
