After seeing it twice now I'd say as of today mine is Gone Baby Gone. Though there is TONS of great movies quickly on the way that have a chance at that title (There Will Be Blood, Juno, & Charlie Wilson's War in particular).

So far its a toss up between Zodiac and Death Proof. And I feel like Im missing something else. Anyways, Im sure I havent seen the best movie of the year yet, as There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men still remain, and I havent gotten to see Jesse James yet because of its distinguished mentally-challenged limited release (looks like I wont until DVD).

Any which way I slice it though, its been a sub-par year.

You really need to see Gone Baby Gone solo. And I don't think 2007 is disspointing. Summer was but fall has been solid so far.

I've really liked so far this fall: Shoot 'Em Up, The Darjeeling Limited, King of California, Assassination of Jesse James (the real great western of 2007, not 3:10 to Yuma) & Gone Baby Gone. And I expect great things out of Lions for Lambs, Charlie Wilson's War, Juno, There Will Be Blood, & No Country For Old Men.

Juno alone could make 2007 a great year for me. I am really really really excited for that flick.

Im not expecting (or wanting) a western out of Jesse James. Its looks more like something Terence Malick would have made, which is what I am hoping for. Plus another badass Nick Cave score.

Well it is barely a western, I just wanted to say its a better film by far than 3:10 To Yuma. And yeah its very Malick like. Also it stars the girl in my avatar

. I am still shocked you have yet to see Gone Baby Gone sir.

This is a pretty hard question, because so far nothing has been really great but there have been a handful of very solid movies. I'm gonna go with Hot Fuzz, although I could probably say Bourne Ultimatum too.

I am usually like 6 months behind since I watch most movies at home. I like the long cut of Death Proof a heck of a lot, though. If not that, I think Zodiac was the only other dinger I saw this year.

Watch it bud, it's amazing but in one condition:

it's very heavy on the plot, so as long as you ain't spoiled, you will love it.

same thing goes for Memento (by the same director, C. Nolan), in other word, a twisted plot.

Rush Hour 3. I honestly think that the fact that the Girl WAS the list is pretty brilliant. It just cements how advanced of an organization the triads really are.

I think Knocked Up had more

scenes, but Superbad was funnier overall. At least, I think that's what I thought of them at the time--I may have mixed them up, lol. But either way I liked Knocked Up more.

Superbad was funnier but Knocked Up was the better movie. Superbad was soulless compared to Knocked Up. It was a goofy (but very funny) teen movie. Knocked Up was a very touching and amazingly written guy friendly rom-com.

Why should how many times you laugh determine how good of a film a comedy is. Does how many times you cry in a drama determine how good it is? It's all silly.

Stardust is fantastic. It is the polar opposite of LOTR and the lotr rip-off's that have dominated the fantasy film genre this decade.

It feels more like a 80's fantasy, in a good way.

Legend the theatrical/VHS cut was pretty average. The director's cut is a very fun movie.

I consider any physical response from me a good thing. If I actually laugh out loud during a show or a movie, it's because of good writing/acting. Same if I cry.

I don't like Rascal Flatts, but the first time I heard "Skin" on the radio I had to pull over because I needed to cry a little. It was that touching and it's a great song. I still don't like the band, but it's a good song. Just like how '50 First Dates' is a pretty funny movie even if there's something about Drew Barrymore that bugs the shit out of me.
