1) pre-emptively understand what hurts your feelings, and/or what you don't want people to know about you, and NEVER EVER POST ABOUT THESE THINGS NO MATTER HOW EMO YOU FEEL AND HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO CONNECT WITH OTHER PEOPLE. the internet is full of assholes with long memories and/or archives, and WHAT YOU SAY IS FOREVER.

2) never, ever make more posts than absolutely necessary to make your point in a flame war. you will never get the last word, and the longer a flame war goes on, your chances of looking like a total fucking shitwit prat increase exponentially. if you didn't win with the first strike, you'll never really win -- and in fact, you'll keep losing in even more spectacular form the more you post.

3) INTERNET LOL. you're never as clever as you think you are, and there's always someone smarter and funnier and cooler than you ready to post and knock you down --- and IT'S ON THE FUCKING INTERNET YOU fegs.
