the thing is, I literally spend entire days reading GAF.  Like, 24 hours straight --- sometimes 30+ --- so it fucks up my sleep schedule and I'm a zombie at work the next day.  And I don't enjoy one second of it, I don't care about the topics they're discussing, I don't respect any of the people there, and I'm banned from posting so I can't even interact with anyone.  But there I am, hitting reload every few seconds while I could be reading or programming or writing music or meeting people, etc.  Why?

reading gaf is the lowest state of mental activity you can achieve short of going to sleep. that's the appeal -- if 'appeal' is the word. i read gaf the way some people watch tv. you're probably wrong when you tell yourself that you could spend that time reading or socializing or playing music.
