If you meant he was one of the two best things about The Departed (the other being Leo), you are right.

And in the Departed, it was funny, because every time he got that sly smile on his face, I saw the Joker. I don't think he should be playing the Joker in any reimagining (even if Nolan's current vision does blow), but I still say he did a pretty good take on it back in 88.

It's an incredibly lame movie. There was a big scandal surrounding it, since Sony Pictures actually made up fake film critic quotes for use in the advertising. They shoulda just asked Gay Boy for quotes, I guess.

This is no suprise based on the doc' on the Batman dvd. He was OBSESSED with the role. He was wearing a big joker button in all the interviews and was downright giddy about talking about the role. iirc he called the joker his favorite acting job in his entire career.
