I barely notice them anymore. The curse of being old. I just know people related to me out of state may or may not get mad cause I was too lazy to do anything

yeah. it even pisses my mom off because my first question when she mentions a get together is "Is it really necessary for me to be there?"

i skip most holiday family functions. hell, i even take overtime at work to have a valid excuse

I just dont know any of them anymore, I dont see the point. Ill visit my mom cause she was there for me, but everyone else kinda sucked. Why should I play nice?

holidays is for drinking, nothing more

Family is supposed to be family. Why should I go out of my way to reach out to people who ONLY remember they're family when they need something? Luckily my grandparents and all my uncles are cool, and I've grown up with them. But ALL of my aunts (ie my dad's sisters) never really reached out to us. I haven't seen them in years, and I especially remember one incident on my birthday when my aunt was talking on the phone to my mom: my mom mentioned it was my birthday or something, and my aunt laughed and went on with her convo; it was on speakerphone. Now that may be a little thing (birthdays are meh) but that was pretty uncaring imo

Luckily my aunts on my mom's side (ie they're married to my mom's brothers) are cool. One got divorced from my uncle awhile ago but I still consider her my closest aunt. To this day she helps out my grandma, but sadly she doesn't come to many family events anymore to avoid seeing my uncle's new wife - who has a mustache

I fuckking hate the holidays because everyone expects me to buy them tons of shyt and RARELY do I get any gifts at all from people, much less thoughtful gifts.

Its one of those things where everyone thinks I have tons of money to spend on them but they couldnt possible buy me anything i dont already have.

Here is a tip for my thoughtless friends and family members - pay fucking attention and its easy to decipher a few gift ideas.

The only person free from my holiday rage is my grandmother - she is really poor BUT always with the little to no money she has always does something.

The only holiday Joy I get I buy for myself.

Fuck I should just go buy that 50 inch plasma I want - dog knows I spent more than the cost of that on gifts for everybody.
