Willco makes a fair point, but the same can be said of many trilogies. And also, in Ultimatum nothing is really pinned on Bourne per se. This time it's more of a mission to eliminate him and all other ties that connect the CIA to a new, illegal program. And while Bourne is attempting to find out who he is, the chick in the CIA is also struggling against the powers that be, who misuse CIA power. So there's that duality between both characters
The movie felt more like a direct sequel than Supremacy to me. In terms of the action, all three movies feature a car chase but I wouldn't say they're rehashed. Each one is different, and I thought Ultimatum's was the best. Although there was a bit more of a suspension of reality with the police car scene, where Bourne is purposely ramming into cars without any whiplash effect. But hey, at least he's not jumping on flying jets
