Thanks everyone for the kind words! The surgery was a total success... here I am, sitting at the computer with 20/20 vision (albeit slightly blurry, which should go away for a few days... I lowered the res. on my desktop to compensate for now).
The first thing they did, was to tape back my eyelids, put a ton of numbing drops in my eye, then insert the ring that holds the eye open. This feels really weird, it's definitely some Clockwork Orange type shit. Then they create the flap over the cornea... I got bladeless treatment, so what they did was lower this giant machine down on my eye, all while having me look at a red light. This was the freakiest part, since once the machine gets locked into position around your eye, you'll only see darkness. Then, they make the flap, (it takes 2 min or so)... the doctor pulls back the flap, and then gears the laser up. The actual laser part wasn't so bad, you'd continue staring at the red light but see all sorts of weird distortions/hazy patterns over it, and you were able to smell the burning. Took about 2-3 minutes as well, and after it was done, the flap was closed.
Yeah, after the first eye was treated, I was about ready to pass out, the doctor and his assistants noticed I was ghost-white, and (since I didn't have much of a breakfast that morning), they gave me some cranberry juice. It was also FREEZING in the room and I couldn't stop shivering, so they brought blankets. After this, they did the other eye which went a lot smoother (since I knew what to expect).
Post-surgery, I had to wear goggles and keep my eye shut for 4+ hours... they say, the longer you keep your eyes shut for, the better... so I had my brother queue up some awesome Nick Warren sets from hybridized.org ... this part wasn't so bad, I had some pain in my eyes (felt like dust or dirt was trapped in there) for the first hour and a half or so, but that went away.
Now, I have to use 2 sets of eyedrops 4 times a day, for the next couple of days. And I can't swim for at least 2 weeks... but other than that, yeah everything was a success and I'll gladly answer any questions you might have, or clarify further.
