Holy $&^%!! Rock Band passes 2.5 million DLC songs sold

That was hella fast.

This is such good news.  With sales like this, it's fairly certain they will keep the steady stream of DLC pumping.  I'm still waiting on those full albums as promised!

Also, they really need an in-game DLC browser so I don't have to go through the janky PS/XBL store to get my fix.

That's awesome news. My friends always ask if I have any new songs to try out whenever they come over.

I want Manic Street Preachers and Pulp DLC. Hopefully when Rock Band comes out in Europe, this dream of mine will become a reality.

Last Train to Clarksville is pretty awesome. I never downloaded My Sharona, but my wife and a friend really want it. I might get it when I get home tonight.

There also need to be more songs with female vocals. My wife will sing to the male songs, but it's an added bonus for her when it's a female singer.

Me too. I wasn't able to five-star it on the first try.

Haven't dived into this week's DLC yet, hope to get to it this weekend.  I'd check out My Sharona, but I've already played it on some other RAGs and it didn't do much for me there.  If it was .99 I'd jump on it.

My Sharona has I think one of the best guitar solos in any of the downloadable songs.  So fun to play.

And pick up the Pretenders song for your wife.  I have that and my sister loves to play it.

They really do, I don't know why the fuck they haven't done that. It's a total mess in XBLA already, when there are a hundred more songs it's going to be impossible to navigate.

I'd imagine that having to actually leave the game to scope them out is losing them some sales, too.

Give me an ingame store with 15 second preview audio, and make it sortable by genre and shit. The current setup is asinine.

They don't need an in-game store, what they need is a shortcut button to all RB dlc on the main menu, (a lot of games did it before) and with this, no need to ever go back to the dashboard, heck they can even have a "NEW" tag for new released songs on this button.

i don't play these games so i dunno if this feature exists in RB/GH or not.

That's what's required as minimum. But most games don't have dozens or potentially hundreds of items on their lists.

They really should be headed towards a store and library browser model like iTMS or something, as they've repeatedly said that's their goal.  I want to be able to buy, install, and play my songs directly in the game.  Also I should be able to set up a playlist so that I don't have to load back out to the menu and load back into the game engine every time... when playing a playlist in multi world tour mode it just keeps the same venue and character models in RAM and only loads up the new song, it takes something like 15-20 seconds for most songs.  Just put a 'next song' and 'previous song' option in the start menu, and I'm good to go.

All this said, still love the game, can't stop playing it :rock
