The same guy got me ridiculously high though today. Still, I don't make it a habit of hanging out with him due to some comments he's made toward some of my other friends.

Well, New Wave is also a descendant of punk. New Wave was sorta the US equivalent of post-punk. But the term emo got popular because a few emo bands were approachable enough to make waves in indie rock circles, and then the pussification began.

I remember in US highschool the cliques were like this.....

Connecting lines show that the refined social class/cliques would fraternize with each other from time to time....

Rappers - Preps - Surfers - Skaters - Headbangers - Rednecks

I didnt fit into any of them but that was the lay of the land......

For example - a surfer would talk to a skater because of the athletic/sports connection....and a skater and a headbanger might talk because they both like thrash/metal....but a sufer wouldnt be caught dead talking to a headbanger.....
