well Im finally done with this game, gave up on Treasure Trove, spent 15 hours with some FAQs trying to get everything, read countless posts on other forums for the commonly missed things, still didnt get the damn achievement. 980/1000 will have to do, that achievement was driving me nuts

I didn't do any sidequests except killing that monster at the Atoll to get the Skill +10 accessory.

I leveled up at Gongora's place but didn't finish it, you cap there at lvl49 anyway.

What's the luminous beast again?

If the Luminous Beast is one of those last boss fights where he keeps hitting you with status effects, definitely kill the monster at the Numara Atoll. You can use the Skill+10 thing to keep yourself immune to most of it and just push through the fight.

Takes 5 minutes to kill the guy, there's no dungeon involved.

probably the best thing to do would be track down the 'Angel Guard' accessory

theres a treasure hunt clue somewhere and you find the item in the Forgotten Cave, and theres also one in the Temple of Enlightenment

it teaches a skill which protects against all status ailments, very useful

My party was level 49-52 and I did it without either of those accessories.

Just use All-Regeneratus or whatever it's called. Takes one turn and all your characters get a large heal plus Regen.

Yea I did, I got them off Cooke. Decrease Casting Time 1 and 2. It's a lifesaver, try that.

I didn't have the last skill for any of my mortals though.

Yea, that's what I did in Gongora's cave. I had Kaim learn double EXP and Seth learn Double SP and then rotated out until everyone got to level 49. Then I went to Numara, then Grand Staff, and by the time I got to the last set of bosses Kaim had already gotten to lvl52 just by fighting the incidental enemies for 5EXP each.

I was being fairly thorough in learning their skills, but with the trouncing I gave the last bosses you could probably just pick 2 or 3 of the important skills from each mortal and be done in an hour.

if you like the storyline you really need to do the gongora's cave sidequest which only takes 30-45 minutes but fills in a great deal of story BEFORE the grand staff. i was pleasantly surprised that there were actually story elements in a sidequest.

still haven't finished the game but i'm at level 62 with all the immortals and ready to crush mother fuckers when i have a free moment.

i've got so many questions yet unanswered, and if they did get answered, i clearly didnt care enough to pay attention

* So now that the link is broken, the immortals are still immortal? Kaim implies this when he says "How about another millenium?" - so basically they get to watch everyone grow up and die, but this time they aren't emo about it? That's dumb. Someone please clarify this or something. The same applies for Ming and Jansen.

* The Immortals World - we still know absolutely ZERO about it.
--- * What is the Immortals World?
--- * Who are the Immortals? As in, what do they *really* look like?
--- * Why does the Immortals World light hurt regular mortals?
--- * Why were the original six chosen? Are they all scientists or something in the other world?

* If the Immortals built the Tower of Mirrors to get there originally, why can they not just make another to send Seth back, or get the rest of the group?

* Why does Kaim say they HAVE to go back, they ARENT meant to be there, but completely forgets about that? What a fuckin flip-flopper.

* Seth = TIDUS - why did she jump in with Gongora? All she had to do was kick his dick and push him in the portal and that'd be it.

* Why did that have to pan out like it did? Why not just kill Gongora right there, THEN smash the mirror?

* So basically the thing that was screwing up the Immortals World was "feelings"? That's like, Kingdom Hearts = Light area of lol

* Lost Odyssey Sequel = Lost Odyssey X-2 -- The Adventures of Mack and Cooke and emo goth Rayne as they explore the world looking for a way to the Immortals World to save Seth but Sed is dead anyway at this point so who cares

Yeah I know I wont get any answers, but looking back on it (and rewatching the ending) - I have to say I really liked the ending

I was hoping the final fight (where your characters support you) would be more epic or something, so it was pretty disappointing

We also never know who that voice was that was calling them back

Also, we never know if the "Throne of the Gods" actually exists, or it was just something in Gongora's head

i'm doing Backyard now. was The Immortal One hard? what level and stuff did you guys use?

i'm Level 75 (sed is 52 but who cares)with basically every skill available - minus the White Charm and Quad Element thing you get from Backyard

that should be good enough to take him. He can hit pretty hard no matter what level you are...

my strategy was:

firstly stock up on as many heal-fulls and godess medicines you can buy from kelolon village (plus a few mana bottles)

then make sure kaim and seth have dbl item equipped

fight the fucker, have Sarah and Ming double cast divide over and over and over (eqiup the reduce casting time and MP conservation skills), Kaim and Seth shouldnt atack as the Immotral One will just use a nasty counter-attack, just have them spam items to ensure that your casters are alive and at full health so they can deal maximum damage with their divide spells (the spell deals exactly as much damage as the castrs current HP, regardless of enemy defence. The HP boosting skills you have learned are helpful too in this instance). Just repeat over and over until the bitch dies, should be under 30 turns no problem

I beat him, he wasn't so hard. Had some nail-biting moments though. I just spammed Divide with everyone the first turn, then when he started fucking me, I swapped over to Reversa with any available characters, throwing Goddess Medicines (revive fully) to the immortals

No Treasure Trove though, looks like I'm on the hunt

AV, check out Split Infinity's guide at Gfaqs. Has every item and quest, although it's not ordered very well (ie hard to find specific quests and stuff). Or you can boost a .pdf Prima guide via torrent (I did that)

Ancient ruins and I got another DRE... fuck, my disk 4 is fucked up I think, I just wiped it down with some disk cleaning spray and I am gonna try again tomorrow. I don't have my receipt anymore. Any way I might be able to get a replacement disk 4? I really wanna finish this, but if it's crashing every half hour, I get so frustrated and don't wanna play anymore

that sucks, disc 4 is apparently a problem disc for lots of people. I never had a single DRE with this game until I got disc 4... I had about 3 total. I cant blame the packaging as Ive got the PAL version... disc is in mint condition. Must be some other technical issue i.e processing or something
