If you have the 
? (mug?) skill on a ring, you won't be able to get the drops, I think.
i think bundoru is mug or steal too. i remember only one ring having steal on it, so unless you saw nusumu or ubau (which i doubt since i've never seen that before even in the dw games that use really difficult japanese), then that's probably the one.
on a side note, that extra quest looks like an unfun pain in the ass that i don't want to deal with. that money would be better spent on an oblivion expansion that is not only passable but can be saved at any point rather than looking for floating orange orbs.
