Yeah, that was the exact point I was going to make about the delivery times, you summed it up perfectly. They are not under the driver's control and sometimes inexperienced call-centers give incorrect times.
There should not be a tip for a cold pizza that's an hour late, that's never what I was arguing. I'm arguing against the idiots who say 'hurr it's their job to bring me a pizza, I'm not tipping.'
I wasn't saying that was you. I'm saying the only reason someone would use their own car to deliver a pizza is the prospect of a tip, not whatever 'delivery charge' they get in addition to their wages. If everyone stops tipping, no matter what, you can be sure every time you order a pizza it will be a 2 hour delivery time, because there will be very few people using their own vehicles for what amounts to a $7 an hour job.
