You couldn't have picked a better server for PvP though.

:rofl Oh my god, win-traders got destroyed today.
http://arenajunkies.com/showthread.php?p=168324

Quote
Account Action: Account Closure
Offense: Arena Exploitation - Win Trading

Details: Player was verified to have been participating in the trade of Arena Team wins to artificially inflate their or another team’s Personal and Team Ratings.

Arena Currency Removed: 2241
Item(s) Removed:
Vengeful Gladiator's War Edge
Vengeful Gladiator's Slicer
Vengeful Gladiator's Shanker
Vengeful Gladiator's Quickblade
Vengeful Gladiator's Pummeler
Vengeful Gladiator's Mutilator
Vengeful Gladiator's Leather Tunic
Vengeful Gladiator's Leather Spaulders
Vengeful Gladiator's Leather Legguards
Vengeful Gladiator's Leather Helm
Vengeful Gladiator's Leather Gloves
Vengeful Gladiator's Bonecracker

Basically anyone who cheated to get their rating high in arena was either 72 hour banned or permabanned, had their teams knocked back down to the start, had all their points taken away, and all their gear (along with enchants and gems) stripped. The best part is that this is right[/] on the brink of S4, leaving these players almost no chance to climb back up the ladder. No hope of Gladiator for them :lol

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Not a lot of people bank their old S1/S2 gear. After all, what would be the point? Even funnier is that when you figure in fully BT-gemmed gear (200-400g per gem) and the best enchants, you're looking at people losing literally thousands of gold.

Woopsies!

The downside of all this is there are a lot of people who weren't even involved in win-trading having action taken against them. Apparently they hand out bans according to the original owner(s) of the team, so if you leveled a team to ~2k, sold it for a couple thousand gold to someone else, and then they used it to win-trade, you would be wrongfully banned and all that jazz.

The highest rated 2v2 on my server got hit (2391). No one knows yet whether or not they are permad.
It's annoying that they don't even acknowledge any of this, though. They don't explain their methods of investigation, how they determine the severity of the ban, and so on. But that's nothing surprising from Blizzard.

My new guild killed Vashj last Monday and Kael yesterday.  Both took about 6 hours of work although I missed the first half-night of work in both cases.  It's nice to be with a group this good.  I spent 4-5 weeks on Vashj attempts with my old guild (last July) so it's nice to be in this position.  I'm guessing we'll clear BT/Hyjal in a month or two.  We're around the 3 month mark for this server, I think.

You'll get stuck on Bloodboil and RoS lolz

But grats on Vashj/Kael. Fights are basically a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow check. It's funny, because the reason so many guilds weren't as far as they are now in Hyjal and BT was them not being able to do Vashj and Kael. But that is irrelevant now that they removed all attunement requirements. Hyjal and BT are both ridiculously easy save for a few select bosses.

We've killed Rage a few times at the end of the night when we had an extra half hour and nothing better to do.  The guild really wanted to kill Vashj/Kael before moving forward.

Very productive day in the wonderful world of warcraft

1. Did Caverns of Time (Durn) for the first time. Wow, that place is epic. I thought it was rather easy though for the most part. I didn't break a sweat until the Thrall escort mission started. No one died, we didn't wipe, and I'm pretty damn awesome :bow

2. Did Mana Tombs. My 4th time doing it and I haven't gotten any gear drops dammit. We didn't wipe once and I had no problem holding arrgo. Cleave is so awesome for holding arrgo on multiple mobs :bow

3. RING OF BLOOD OMGWTFBBQ. No one told me about this! I got like 50g, a nice weapon, and tons of XP while doing some pretty easy ass gladiator shit. I thought the ring would close so only one group could be in, but instead it was open allowing anyone to help - which made it so damn easy.

got to lv68 :bow

Got hunter to 21! Random thoughts~

The Foppish Dandies is a lonely place.  :(

It's been said before, but the design in this game is top-notch. It's pushing way less polys than many more recent games, but still manages to hold its own graphically. IMO of course.

Hunter is pretty easy, even drunk! I had to respec already, seeing as I didn't look ahead at the talent trees. Beast mastery seems more useful than marksmanship at this point in the game.

I met some cool people and had a pretty good pickup party. We destroyed every quest in the Ghostlands in like an hour.

The AH kind of sucks compared to FFXI. This is offset by aspect of the cheetah, which makes fetch quests pretty bearable. In all honesty, the quests are pretty fun, and they've kept my interest so far.

I'm off of work tomorrow. Next stop is God knows where. Maybe Ogrimmar.

Actually, I am doing Shaman if I make a Muradin alt. Trying to decide between troll or tauren.

My current Shaman: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ravenholdt&n=Kateground

1200-1400 dps. 987 Nature Damage. 21% sheet crit, 34% with talents and 1% of measly spell haste. Raid buffed with my boomkin buddy, it is about 43% crit and 1188 nature damage.  With procs and heroism, 1.1 second lightning bolts hitting 1600, critting 3200 and lightning overload+lightning capicitator procs knocking that up to 5k+ potential damage per 1.1 second LB cast.

End Product: Best Ally Ele shaman on the server and I haven't touched t5 drops. =| Is so sad.

But! I am posting to bitch about distinguished mentally-challenged alliance in my BG pugs. I have stopped BGing a lot because I can't stand the bane of the pugs. Everywhere I go in a BG, there is soem degree of success. Be it a tower, or flag return, or defense, it goes fine.  It's just that the other 95% of the map completely fails.

Last night I was doing eots as it was the daily. I won my first two at around 2000 to 300, so I had a good pug going. Then I got DCed and ended up with a different grouping of pugs. This turned out to be frustrating to a high degree. Starting off, it was fine. We had two towers and were capping a third, so I went to the middle to get flag. As long as we kept pressure on a  third and had two, we'd win with the flag. We were int hat ideal situation when I went to the middle. With me came a couple healers and a second damage dealer. Us four I would quickly learn were the only thing on the map with a brain.

We get to the middle and it is horde controlled, so we work our way in. There's warriors and rogues, a pally and druid healer and mage. This group continually chain rushes us in the middle for a good long while. Outnumbered, we still take them down again and again. We have middle, we have flag, I ASSUME we are doing well. The same 6 or so Horde keep coming, obviously frustrated. I spent most of the time at 10% mana with little time to drink, my healers are amazing and keep up. I frost shock the rogues and wars, drop earthbind on them, nuke and interrupt the healers, then rinse and repeat.

After awhile, I look up at the score. We're losing, my team has lost all the other towers except one, which they are just turtling at. Now I know that there have been more Horde at flag than alliance, so I know my team has the numbers advantage at towers. Yet, they somehow lost two towers and couldn't send anyone to grab the flag we've been non-stop fighting horde at. I check the BG charts. I am topping Damage Done and KBs. Second through 11th on the chart are all Horde. The two healers with me are 1st and 3rd in healing, the next 10 are Horde.

I look at BG chat and someone says "You people at the middle are wasting time and cost us the game!" At which point I lost it and ran off an angry rant to which nobody had a response. When you outdamage the next alliance player by 100k they really can't say anything to you. A whole three of us basically running the middle, outnumbered 2-1 for 15-20 minutes and the rest of the team can't keep a single fucking base? Are their keyboards broken? The game isn't that hard. What are these people doing? You were going 12 on 9 and still getting wiped?

So I got pissed off, went to Isle of QD and blew everything up. >|

Breezed through CoT: Black Morass on my first try

We had a great healer which really helped. Basically I tanked all the elites and bosses while a hunter took care of the ads, and a couple DPSers kicked elite ass. Had a bit of trouble with Aeonus (the big dragon) on the first try after our arms warrior accidentally started the final sequence; wound up kicking him (had to do it or the group would totally dissolve sadly...fuckin babies), getting a rogue, and redoing the entire instance. On second try everything went smoothly and were cruised to the end. Basically the only tough spots were the boss fights. I had no problem keeping their arrgo but they do a lot of damage, and plus almost all the bosses have some type of move that makes it hard to get heals: freezing time, knocking you out of los, etc

I just starting playing WoW about a month ago. It's pretty fun so far. I got a night elf level 47 druid. I'm sure there are better choices for a class but I never cease to be amused with turning into cats and bears and moonkins all day. 3 more levels and I can get a skill where I can summon 3 treants to rampage around wrecking stuff in a fury of foliage! :gun Like I said, I'm easily amused...

I'm sure there are better choices for a class but I never cease to be amused with turning into cats and bears and moonkins all day. 3 more levels and I can get a skill where I can summon 3 treants to rampage around wrecking stuff in a fury of foliage! :gun Like I said, I'm easily amused...
Druids are still far and away the most hated class in arena due to their ridiculous survivability. At least you're not the world's one billionth NE hunter.
