I'm trying out a pretty awesome free realm called WoWScape. It has super fast leveling and you get all of a mob's drops when you kill it. So far I'm level 18 after 40 minutes played, but I've been running around a bit.

He has two different threat meters and two different buff bars (actually, I'm not sure what that buff bar on the left is).  Those are just the start of his problems.  Here's my raid interface.

I played my first BG today and holy crap did I get raped. I got a whopping 5 kills.  :'(  It's hard because all the guys on my group run off and do whatever and it seems the horde guys stay in a pack better and so you get into a bunch of 3v1 situations. I'll have to try it some more to really get a better feel of it.

I also would be interested in some suggestions for add-ons and UI mods. I'm using titan panel, quest helper and auctioneer right now and they all seem really useful.

You'll get better at PVP. Eventually you'll be able to predict what people are up to. Some hunter was yelling at me today cause I was meleeing too much.

Sorry kids, BM/Survivalist with a focus on Aspect o Monkey = potent. Im gonna wing clip and chew the faster classes up whenever possible. DPS is lost while trying to GET range, and if youre BM you dont have the same level of range control as marksman builds, might as well just stand and fight when you can. Doesnt work for every situation, granted, but hunters who think there's only 1 or 2 ways to play a hunter are dumb.

Plus its fun watching marksman hunters try to melee me. I teh LOLZ.

It satisfied me. I don't really have any desire to play on a regular real anymore. The private server I play on is called WoWScape and it seems really good so far. There's GM's and all kinds of security things in place to make sure people aren't cheating. There's also 4 different servers. The one I really has super fast leveling, communication between horde and alliance, and tons of things in place to make the game easier for you to get to 70. There's another that's exactly like the regular WoW servers and another that's exactly like the regular servers except with a bit faster leveling. The other server is a battlegrounds test server where it throws you into a zone with all the BG starter people at level 70. There's NPC's around that let you buy better equipment and things using points you get from winning and killing in the BG's. Really awesome place so far.

I got the Shadow Labyrinth key today actually. I'll definitely try it asap so I can get the felsteel helm plans

I don't plan on doing heroics until I get some better gear (mainly boots, belt, shield, and helm), but when I do start them what's the "entry" one? Ramparts/BF?

All BKs will do is further imbalance the game towards melee. I'm kind of hoping AoC will kill off WoW a bit so Blizzard actually has to try. A lot of heavy wow players I know are playing Conan, but they always do that and then come back for no explained reason. I just can't run Conan on my computer. =/

PD!

I will help gear you up. Let me know what dungeons/stuff you need help with. For a starter Heroic, I found the Coifang ones kind of easy. Ramparts is fine as well. There is a part in Slave Pens though where you fight two giant boglords that hit mighty hard. You might need some gear to be able take that.  Eventually you will need to do Heroic Mechanar for the sword.

Sounds great. I was browsing some WoW sites just to get some info on the type of gear/stats I'll need. I'm close to 12k health, my armor value isn't a problem since it increases each time I get new gear. My defense is 401 so I need 89 more, which seems like it'll be expensive/tough lol.

btw do you have any +12 stamina gems (blue)? I need one for my pants but they cost 30g on AH wtf.

30g is cheap.  Start doing the Shattered Sun dailies and you'll be rolling in money.  Heroics have pretty much been nerfed into the ground but you need to hit 485 defense before you start them.  For the easy ones you probably don't have to worry about health too much.

I'd hit 490 defense and get into Kara as quickly as possible, though.  It's the fastest way to gear up at 70 (from drops and a ton of badges) and has been nerfed to where a decent PuG can clear it plus it's a lot of fun.  Find a group you can OT for (at first) and you're set.

Just hit 41 a little while ago, where do I quest now?

Feralas?

Tanaris?

The Hinterlands?

Searing Gorge?

Break down all these areas for me, EB peeps! Keep in mind I'm on a PVP server that takes the the versus part to heart (TICH REPRESENT).

What instances do I need to be running for the best rogue gear for my level?

Take his advice. Get uncrittable PD, I'll try to get you in a Kara run as offtank until you get some more epic gear. That way you can gear and learn the fights. You'll have a job off-tanking the first two bosses, so it'll be a good learning experience. You could maybe even tank Maiden depending on your gear then. Maiden is really easy, you just stand there in the middle and hit it. You'll likely get some drops and badges to turn in for even better gear.

And yes I have the blue stamina gems.  Just bring me some Ore to prospect. There's one star of elune in the gbank, but thats the only one I have right now. I can also cut you all the tanking Metas, and epic gems.  I have the dodge and stam gems as well, but I do not have the defense rating and stamina talasite cut.  Ask Fillesauvage if he can do it and he'll cut it for you for free I'm pretty sure.

On a guild note Maurice, Distemperd and Fillesauvage moved those characters out of the guild, but moved some others in. Just reorganizing so they can raid together, but they put other characters in Short Story and so yada yada. On a bigger note, the guild might get a whole lot bigger in a couple weeks depending on others. I'll know everyone joining, it's not a mass invite, but a last ditch effort to make another good raiding guild on the server, minus the raid guild drama. It is still very iffy though. Lastly, Atblol in the guild is Atb the undead mage on Horde side. He should be friendly if you run into him.

Anyways, get your starter tank set, we'll get you heroics and a Kara run, the IQD dailies are easy gold and I can also make you the epic leg armor kit, stam gems, meta tank gems and etc.

And speaking of tanking..

I've been leveling a prot pally on another server. She's 35 now and I just did 3 complete Gnomer runs today. They really nerfed that place down. I healed 2 runs and tanked one. I've done SM too, but wasn't tanking it. It's kind of annoying actually, I make this character to tank and theres always another tank in the group. I fnally got to do it with Gnomer and see how far I could push my aoe tanking. It was pretty fun, tanked 6 or more mobs at once, like 2nd in dps and doing it without a dedicated healer.  I just hit first target with a seal judgement, consencrate, then seal of light to heal myself up as I tank with a ret pally friend throwing me a heal here or there. Seal of Light and reckoning is nice, especially if it is judged on the target as well. In three runs there were 3 deaths, only from people going the wrong way and no wipes.  Gnomer use to be wipe city. They nerfed the damage mobs do considerably. Dark Iron bombs are nothing now. In fact, I started the run as the healer again since the other pally didn't have enough mana, but we were taking so little damage that we just said fuck it and I aoe mobbed through everything.

PvP as prot pally has been interesting as well. Though I can aoe mobs like nuts, it doesn't work in PvP damage. So what I can do is heal and be very hard to kill. If Horde are dumb enough to focus on me and leave my casters alone, I will just fight them and last while they get killed by others. If not, I am just a healer that is very hard to kill.  One on One, I've twice had hunters try to gank me in Hillsbrad only to fail.  One hunter five levels above me tried when I had 10% health and the other tried while I was AFK and failed.  The second hunter was really pissed off by it.  He came back to /spit spam me like 20 times. I was like wtf? Otherwie I've ran into horde Mages who seem to like me.

Since I got http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9458 all I need is a good 1hander to use with reckoning to really be a crazy aoe mob grinding tank machine.

Arathi Highlands is a nice place. I love that place. Also Tanaris has some nice quests, and once you get high enough you can do ZF. I never spent much time in Ferelas. Badlands isn't bad

EotS was LOL tonight. Alliance mobbed the middle halfway through the match, let us cap 4, then ran with the flag to some corner of the map till we won from point control.

The biggest problem with Horde are as follows:

A.) We have shit for healers, and the ones we do have dont know how to heal for a raid configuration.
B.) We dont know how to protect the good healers we DO have.
C.) We will chase an alliance Paladin to hell and back, regardless of what it is costing us big picture.
D.) In AV, we aren't willing to sacrifice Balinda, this has always been an issue. Alliance is willing to sacrifice Galv, which doesnt always work, but is an OPTION.

A problem both sides probably face is that players only view a kill as an option. Why try to spend hours killing the holy spec pally. Why not task a mage to sheep and silence to manage the pally while you kill his friends and THEN deal with him. Every class has SO MANY utility spells and skills and THEY DONT USE THEM. It makes me really mad seeing that im the only mage trying to manage the two healers healing the one Warrior three horde are bashing on.

I am going to guess Badlands, Searing Gorge and Feralas maybe. Those are areas I quested with more horde presence or a Horde town more prominent. Most instances have rogue and hunter gear, so any will do likely. I spent a lot of the 40s in Tanaris and doing Zul Furrak. I am pretty sure Mara has rogue gear, at least leggings for sure and some weapons.

Did Slabs for the first time. Outside of the bosses I thought it was straight forward. I was hovering around 65% damage taken for an hour before I died, kicking my percentages down. Oh well. we wiped on the second to last boss but outside of that we had no problems. Great group (holy pally, hunter, 2 rogues, me tanking)

I died due to his aoe thing. Wasn't paying attention  :lol

And I got to lv360 BS. Too bad the freakin felsteel plans didn't drop for me while I was in Slabs  :'(

Anyone here use Diamond Threat Meter? I ditched both KTM and Omen for it. Works well so far, though sometimes I pull aggro and it doesn't warn me. =/ I somehow pulled aggro on Magtheridon during the bounce around phase while I was re-dropping my totems. I still can't make sense of it. I was probably second in aggro during the whole fight, but I wasn't dpsing at the time.

Perhaps you got too close and had between 10% and 30% more threat than the tank.  I had a fun death on the big bad wolf once when LRRH died on top of me so I was in melee range and the tank wasn't.

Omen sucks because it only tracks other people's threat if they have the mod. Plus after a fight the data disappears - I prefer seeing averages so I can analyze how I do from situation to situations (4-5 mobs at once for instance, which I pulled off a couple times in Slabs :rock). The DM I have does that and it's easy to read. Nothing worse than seeing a cloth priest get tapped a couple times and then see his damage taken % shoot through the roof. smh

Rant time: Blacksmithing needs to be fixed. I got to lv360 today. For the last few weeks I've been farming fel iron and eternium ore so I can create the felsteel armor set (as soon as I get the plans sigh). The felsteel stuff is some of the least demanding BS armor I've come across.  Most of the other stuff has some truly OUTRAGEOUS mat requirements. What's the point of being an armorsmith if all the purple stuff I can make is not only extremely expensive to make, but also binds once created which means I can't auction it.

Case in point: Breastplate of Kings
http://thottbot.com/i28483

8 primal mights? 6 hardened adamantite bars (which equal 60 adamantite bars...which equals 120 adamantate ores). It's a nice piece of armor that I could use, but the cost is just not worth it. No wonder I have such a hard time finding BS work. I offer free stuff if people provide the mats - I usually provide the mining materials.

I got the plans for Khorium Pants (http://thottbot.com/i23609) yesterday. Khorium bars are expensive but I can buy them - but who's going to provide 4 primal waters and primal manas lol?

It said like 80-90% of threat. I don't know sometmes. When LO procs and LC procs go off, I know it is just a crazy burst that does it, but sometimes I am just doing normal rotations and things go awry. I've just gotten very aggro worried lately, which has dropped my dps, but at least I'm not causing chaos.

Gear wise, I'm still stuck at where I am until I can do t6 or some t5 stuff. The new badge vendor Ele Shaman gear is pretty poorly itemized. My Netherstrike Vest, something designed to be t4 equivalent, I can socket to have more spell dmg than, way more crit than and only lose spell haste, which is a give and take stat. Grarg.

Were you between 80% and 90% of the tanks threat or 80% to 90% of the red "pull aggro" bar.  If it was in relation to the pull aggro bar then 85% of that will put you just over 110% of the tank's threat and if you move into melee range you'll pull.  It seems unlikely that you'd move within 10 yards as an elemental shaman, though.  It's more likely that your threat is being incorrectly calculated.

PD, Omen is a way for DPS to monitor their threat so they don't pull aggro.  It's incredibly useful in a raid setting during 6-10 minute fights and everyone will have the mod.

To make good epic items for yourself.  These BoP items are usually the thing that makes the profession worthwhile.  Armorsmithing does suck, though.  The weapon making specializations are better but even then it's not a good profession for tanks.  Engineering is much better for them (incredible BoP helm, tanking gun).

You can buy or farm primals. *shrugs*  Those are holy paladin farming pants, though.

I did Crypts today and got the Felsteel Gloves plans. Made one for myself and sold another - 50g :bow

Fel Iron is rather easy to farm, especially when compared to adamantite.

Often paladins will ask me if I can make anything that caters to them; most of the time in the past I really didn't have anything for them, but this Khorium set is great for pallys.

Prot pally is at 41, but can't get a rfd or ulda group so far. Only have 3 pieces of plate armor right now. I really like the new Dustwallow Marsh though. I'll probably head to Tanaris next or just farm mining nodes for gold. Iron Bars are 20g+ a stack on Korgath.

20g a stack? Damn, I have a ton of iron ore but Ravenholdt's iron market is rather meh.

Hit 58 so that meant time to head for the Outlands! I met up with some other dude who had just hit 58 too so we ran around doing the first couple quests together. It seems like the stat bonuses for gear like doubled compared to what I'm used to seeing. Downside is I still have a crap load of quests to do in Azeroth so now it's do I go back and finish those up, or just keep messing around in Outland.  :-\

Level 64 is by far the worst level in the game. It really sets into you how far from 70 you are. I've had 2 level 64 characters now and I just can't get past that level. Terrible.

The AH is so weird. Yesterday nobody bought any of my fancy crap I had on sale so I had to eat the deposits on it all. And that was a pretty busy day on the server. And now today when nobody is on all my crap sells within half an hour of putting it in!  ??? Except for my Lei of Lillies which people seem to treat like it's cancer.

Yeah, I've quit playing on 63/64 a few times. After that, though it goes pretty quickly, I went through 65-70 within a short period of time, and I don't really play all that often.

lv63-64 is a pretty lively time, at least in outlands. Doing BF/Ramparts/Underbog/etc at that level is really fun, especially once you find a good group of people to play with. I found a good priest and we'd basically do instances 2 to 3 times a day; very easy to quickly attract group members when you've got a tank/healer tandem. Sadly he respec'd to shadow at lv70  :'(

Tried to do Shattered Halls twice today and both groups flopped. First time our healer had connection issues so we stopped shortly after getting to the hall with 5 mobs lined up. Second group started off so well, then our rogue left...so they added a warlock who's on my shit list. This guy doesn't follow directions and has bailed on groups I was in twice, including this morning. I figured hey we can't find anyone else so I won't complain. He then procedes to go Leroy Jenkins on 6 mobs

me: skull then x. square and moon=trap. warlock on triangle (caster). ok this -
warlock: *procedes to arrgo entire group before everyone is ready*
*group wipe*
warlock: it worked last time!

Group dissolved shortly after that. Are there servers where many people are constantly in que for groups? It takes forever to get a group for just about anything on my server, which means I constantly wind up biting the bullet and joining groups with players whom I know aren't team players.

The porblem is that people spend as littletime as possible on regular 70 instances now, wanting to skip as quickly as possible to Kara and Heroics for badges and the much superior badge gear.

Yeah, you'll be hard pressed to find any decent non-heroic pugs on most servers. Generic 1 1/2 year old content with mediocre loot doesn't attract too many competent players :( Expansion will even everything up again though.

Yup. Sometimes people will rag on me for not having any pvp gear, but honestly I haven't seen many gear sets aimed at tanks. Right now my main goal is to get to 490 defense, then do heroics. A lot of the stuff I need can be found in instances such as Slabs, where I'm trying to get the felsteel helm plans. So while some of my dps friends have quickly jumped into heroics I'm gear hunting with hunters who don't know how to trap. And it's not like I'm complaining or acting like I'm awesome but I'm definitely not awesome.

Oh well, at least SSO rep quests are fuuun. At first I thought it would get boring doing the same quests every day, but I always have a blast on the island. So far I've only been harassed by the horde once. People who gank wind up getting camped, and that keeps the peace. I just got to honored yesterday. I want to get exalted so I can get this

Etoilet and myself spent 5 hours in Slabs (reg) lol. One of the worst instance runs I've ever had, and I greatly appreciate Et staying the course  and healing with the group :bow

I was looking forward to doing an instance so I could try out my new mouse over Devastate macro but wound up embarrassing myself numerous times. We wiped countless times. I wouldn't have felt bad if we only wiped on bosses but we wound up wiping on trash mobs like what, 4 times? Then we wiped on Vorpil at least 5 times, Murmer like 5 times as well. Maybe more. Ugh

I was so busy trying to devastate multiple mobs that I relaxed on my aoe spamming, especially thunder clap which should be done like every 4.5 seconds to keep arrgo. I didn't and we wound up wiping. But I can't even use that as an excuse: after I started using thunder clap/cleave as needed we still wiped. I should have payed more attention to Etiolet in the back, getting harassed by mobs. smh @ myself  :'(

After we got our dps secure we were able to beat Vorpis, but Murmer gave us unexpected difficulty. The second time I did Slabs (few weeks ago) I found out that he does his major aoe attack every 30sec or so, and the best way to avoid it is to just run away around the 25sec mark. Makes sense right? This dude kept dying on Murmer because he wouldn't run, so we'd be left with less dps than needed for the fight. After about 4 or 5 wipes we decided that I'd just tank him and not run, letting him hit me with the aoe. We beat him on the second try with that plan

Longest instance run I've done since...hm, maybe Gnomer. I was in Gnomer for 4.5 hours at least twice. At least I got this
