I can't wait to pwn some newbz. And by newbz, I mean people who like most of the people on this board. "LOL, Smash Bros isn't a real fighting game! Where's the win button? Oh crap, I just got killed 10 times in the first 30 seconds.

The only crappy thing is that they're making you play with Wiimote w/Nunchuck. It blows. I played it today using that setup at Gamestop, it's unplayable garbage. Wiimote is good for some games, but this isn't one of them. Only God's most perfect controller, The Wavebird, can play Smash Bros the way it's meant to played, and Gamestop is wrong for not realizing that. Come on Gamestop, have you not felt the way the Wavebird melts into the contours of your hands, become an extension of your body, making my Melee battles become almost a cyber zen-like experience, where I'm not no longer inputting commands with a controller but the inputs are flowing directly from my brain into the computer? Have you?? Probably not, because you're a bunch of twats. "Oh oh, we want to make it fair for people who haven't played Melee before!" WTF, those people don't even deserved to be there. While we're at it, let's play a basketball tournament with soccer balls and 6 foot goals to make it fair for people who haven't played before. smh

I'm gonna go to this tomorrow nite... tournament is gonna suck though, wiimote+nunchuck sounds annoying for this game, and plus isn't it timed 1 minute? Fuck that, it's all about the 3-stock, niccas. I can't wait to see all the nerds who will turn up. This is Long Island though, all the nerds will still probably have blowouts and be decked out in Armani.

So, I am entering, considering for the time being I'm not an official GameStop employee.

So far I've adapted quickly to waggle. Hopefully that will help me win and at least get to the district level.

BTW, if I make it all the way, I better

1. Get to meet the San Fransisco EBers (Willco)
2. We better be drinking. I get $200 from GameStop for spending money if I make it to San Jose. Fifty of that goes towards liquor.

If all else fails, I'm just gonna pick it up Sunday morning at Best Buy. They had like a fuckload of copies of Mario Galaxy the day it came out, so I picked it up.

I already went through the tournament rules and nonsense with other Store Managers at the San Jose location and it looks like it's going to be a zoo when the regional semi-finalists and finalists make it to the later rounds.

Actually, ALL the rules are mandated by Nintendo. They are sponsoring this thing and they want it run a certain way. Also, I saw the trophy that the stores will be handing out to the winners (courtesy of Nintendo) of the tournament this Saturday. It's fucking hideous.

My 13-year old nephew, who recently got a Wii, called today, asking if he could borrow our Gamecube controllers for Brawl. I guess they're expensive and hard to find in the Seattle area now. I had to tell him no, since my wife loves SSB:Melee and is unwilling to give up the ability to play it on the Cube.

The tournament starts at 10pm. The rounds are one minute each, so it will not be two hours. Most stores (mine included) are starting earlier. Secret characters are not available. If someone unlocks one during play, the tournament supervisor will have to reset the kiosk.

Pretty fucking awesome. Even won a gift card for answering a trivia question.

And, I'm addicted to Brawl now. The new "subspace" adventure mode reminds me A LOT of Kirby Super Star for some reason. Guess whichever HAL team worked on that worked on the adventure mode for Brawl, because the feels are very identical. It really, really struck me during the parts on Meta Knight's ship, but I guess I would automatically come to that conclusion considering the level had the exact same music and level design.

Great game though, can't wait to play more!
