I want something I can play adequately while extremely fucked up, which means no waggle. The Wii is largely showing the same pattern as the DS: the best games are usually the ones that don't heavily subscribe to their system's gimmick.

You do use the Wiimote, but not like in Pangya. I think the best way to describe is "relaxed" waggle control. You just use the Wiimote to line up the shot bar instead of clicking a button like in Hot Shots. That's it. The Wiimote (no nunchuck needed) is also used to control the entire game...move it upwards to get an overhead shot of the course, back down to return to normal, etc. It's awesome controls. For once.

IGN is on some serious "jap bastard shit or what" stuff.

Microsoft not having a big Japanese foothold is great when it comes to this stuff. Sony and Nintendo and the other third parties just do not get online. They just do not. Capcom-- still on online in monster hunter portable, charges for online in console MHs. Sega-- Phantasy Star Unibortion. Nintendo-- lol. Sony-- Japanese studios do not have voice chat in their games, do not have standard features. Konami-- somehow tries to shoehorn Metal Gear into an online game. Square Enix-- Crystal Chronicles DS without online, somehow made FFXI online by some voodoo magic.

This is the only game where it's been anything resembling an issue.

My friend with rock Band on PS3 has it terrible--the game's controls are lagged like a half second behind the music in the game. He's done everything to try to correct it.

it's presumably display lag rather than controller lag -- all fixed-pixel hdtvs have got some. if your tv has a 'game mode' that should help.

i'm unhappy with my tv in various ways, but it lags so little that i'm kind of hesitant to upgrade

unless it's a crt projection set, it's doing the same kind of scaling and digital image processing as an lcd or plasma, and that's what causes lag. i won't try to tell you what you are or aren't experiencing, but i don't see why or how clap hanz would let input lag creep into a game that's extremely sensitive to it -- that would be more than 'technically blah'

As I've said, I experience lag with no other games, including games that I know have issues with it, so if it's on the head of anyone, it's Clap Hanz.

I'm wondering if people experiencing Blue Tooth dropouts and other problems in the past could experience a slight lag. In my case, I could be subconciously compensating and I don't notice.
