Just saw this tonight, HOLY SHIT funniest movie I've ever seen. No joke.

The naked wrestling scene and the attempt to kidnap Pamela Anderson almost made me piss my pants. HOLY SHIT.

It was way too short. At least to me it felt so quick it wasnt funny. I couldnt believe the wrestling scene my side has been hurting me for days and laughing actually hurt it wasnt funny. But i enjoyed the movie i didnt think i would.

I felt it was a bit short too, but then again I got more than enough laugh out loud moments to care.

It also felt really cut. like shit was just left out. I'm sure the dvd will be better.

Wow, I completely disagree. The scenes felt perfectly cut to keep the pacing of the film going strong throughout, instead of dwelling on certain aspects far too long (as has been an occurance on the show).

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. $:-\$

yeah i guess your right. I mean it was cut in the scenes they didnt show cause they didnt make it for the movie. Like too outragious. The scenes pacing was great. I'm sure theres a crap load of unused stuff.

Also to those who care it was a HUGE hit on Friday for such a limited release, its likely to break the record of biggest opening weekend for a limited release set by Fahrenheit 9/11.

There was this really old couple behind me in the showing I went to today shockingly. They were screaming with the rest of the audience. I have seen plenty of comedies in theaters in my life but this is the only one where people were literally yelling and screaming in uncontrollable laughter.

The movie was fucking hilarious. I personally thought the naked scene was a bit too long and gross (I have to give Cohen props for being able to stomach doing that) but it still was pretty funny. I had only seen a few clips of his shown, but like dj_tet, I knew what to expect, and it delivered. But it will never be as funny as this first time seeing it. Packed theater was laughing their asses off the whole time.

Why isn't PhoenixDark banned yet? Didn't "Ban PhoenixDark" win that poll?

ATHF and Borat are almost on two opposite ends of the spectrum. ATHF relies on zany, random humor and in-jokes; Cohen's act is all about making people look like assholes on the screen.

somehow, fan hyperbole turns me off and makes things seem less funny. that said, jackass-style physical comedy with a bad accent makes this movie sound like an XXXTREME version of a Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller frat comedy like Dodgeball or Anchorman or Talledega Nights, all of which were about as funny as colorectal cancer.
