I can understand cheering for new upstart teams, especially a franchise like TB that has struggled so much in the past, but abandoning your team altogether for another ''winning'' team is annoying.

What if your team currently employs Jeff Francoeur?

I haven't watched a full Braves game in at least three weeks.

At least you HAVE the option to watch games, those of us out of market are bereft.

Halladay was awesome tonight. With the innings he eats up, I don't know if there's a more valuable pitcher.

Ricciardi just needs some guy to run shit through.  Like a guy that gets to slap him upside the head if he's about to do something stupid.  I could do that for a very nominal fee.  Shit, I'd probably do it for booze and hookers.

Ricardi aint awfull. Hes better than many gms in the league.

J. P. Ricciardi is a bad general manager. After seven years, after three managers, after more than doubling the Blue Jays payroll, the team is still very mediocre. With the time and resources he's been given, he's proven to be a bad evaluator of talent.

He's drafted poorly: very few players on the active roster have been drafted by him, and the farm system is one of the worst ranked in baseball.

He has made bad trades: guess who traded away Chad Gaudin?

He's overpaid for players: he's given too much money to Wells; Thomas, who isn't even on the roster; Burnett; and Ryan.

Ricciardi has had his chance and he has failed.

Well, to defend him on one of those points, he kind of HAS to overpay for players since who wants to play in CANADIA?

In the early 90's, the Blue Jays didn't have any problems getting Americans to play in Canada. If the team was well-run and winning, it would be able to attract good players again.

Anyway, let's say you're right. That means that the Blue Jays need to draft and trade well. And I think if they had a chimp with a dart board running the team over the last seven years, they'd have done no worse.

Anyone watch the HR derby last night?

LOL @ Rick Reilly: "It's a lousy night to be an atheist."

Josh Hamilton was a drug addict and out of baseball for three years.
Josh Hamilton "found Jesus."
Josh Hamilton hit a lot of home runs in the first round of a home run derby.
Thus, there is a god!

Speaking of home runs

The Blue Jays leader in home runs is a short, forty-year-old, Canadian, utility player.  :lol :lol

Josh Hamilton is awesome. Even though we had to give up Edison Volquez to get him and the Rangers barely have any pitching to begin with, it was totally worth it. I tip my hat to Josh Hamilton, Milton Bradley, and Ian Kinsler for keeping this team above .500.

My gf and I went up to the second-to-last game at Yankee stadium.  It was badass, especially since neither of us had been to Yankee Stadium before.  The game was a 0-0 tie until a walkoff single by Robinson Cano.  Got to see Sandman pitch  :-*

lolz, Mets are totally trying to choke again this season.  I don't know if the Brewers have it in them to win a couple of games and catch them, tho.  It's a shame that MLB jobbed the Asstros out of the race, they could have done it.

The Mets NEEDED a new stadium, tho.  For one, Shea was a toilet.  Two, the shiny new toy will distract people next year from the fact that they've imploded the past two years in a row and despite the fact that they always get tons of hype and talk tons of shit, they somehow never manage to deliver the goods.
