I went at 4:30 to avoid all the kiddies, but it was packed with them anyway. They applauded with every new iteration of the suit and laughed at some dumb shit, but I still enjoyed it.

Just got back. Meh. It's not horrible, but it's pretty fucking average in nearly every regard. I expected cheese so that didn't bother me much, but I could only take so much of the bad script and strange editing. The final battle gave me Transformers flashbacks.

But omg Downey Jr. is fucking awesome. Terrence Howard meh, Paltrow omg. I couldn't take Jeff Bridges seriously once...well, see the movie. It's a pretty funny movie, which I didn't expect. The audience was cracking up

7/10 is about right. It does make up for Transformers being a complete disaster to me, though, since that flick scared me away from dumb movies for the next year.

Robert Downey Jr. is great in the movie, everyone else is kinda good, but not stand-out-y. The CG is good. I think CG has pretty much progressed to the point where it doesn't bug me with its fakeness anymore.

The movie kinda lulls in the last third or so, leading up to the final fight scene, but aside from that, it's pretty smooth-going. It was worth the ten bucks, and I'll probably grab it when it releases in HD.

Overall the CG isn't bad but there are some horrible shots. I'm mainly thinking of the first Iron Man suit, when he uses the flame thrower. Also I noticed the smoke from...everything looked bad.

Human-CG interaction wasn't bad overall, which is key to me when you've got a main character that relies on CG

RDJ was really great in this movie. He's definitely one of my favorite current actors. The movie may have only been entertaining, but I don't think there could have been better casting in the lead.

Also, that new Indiana Jones trailer has me a bit worried. It felt really. . .flat.

But I was going in expecting a pretty slow action starved movie (being an origins movie). But I agree that if there was any actor playing Stark besides RDJ, the movie would have blown. RDJ IS TONY STARK

Iron Monger was pretty fucking cool too, its too bad that it was pretty much a quick ass fight. I loved how big they made it, so beefy and powerful. I also agree with TVC, the CG was fantastic but I think thats partly due to how much of it was used (didn't seem like much)

I'm pretty new to Iron Man and the two things I like best about Iron Man are the fact that he doesn't have a secret identity and that the person is leagues more interesting than the hero. Even Spiderman in the costume has a bit of a likable personality different from Peter Parker, Bruce Wayne and Batman are similar as well. Iron Man is completely stone-faced and the only reason we like him is because of Stark inside.

FUCK me, I left as soon as the movie ended.

It was way too goofy for me to enjoy. I dunno, like the corniness was pretty nice at first, but then it just escalated with every passing scene. The score ate balls dude, and every time I saw Jeff Bridges I couldn't stop thinking "Mind if I do a J?"

it was pretty corny but it was a lot better than the spiderman, batman, and superman movies of the last few years though. the movie actually has a little bit of a political message and the extra clip at the end of the credits (which I recommend waiting through) makes me think they're going to make a good sequel.

the credits are really long though. I got bored and started counting and counted 100 different stunt drivers.

I personally just like the upbeat Tony Stark character and the technological aspects of Stark Industries (more so than Wayne Industries). Iron Man as a Super Hero is more interesting to me too. It doesn't mean I don't like Batman though, I just rate Iron Man higher.

I really liked 3, I never understood why people thought it sucked. People know what Raimi is about. With ever Spidey film he made it cheesier and cheesier until Spider-Man 3, which is so campy it makes Army of Darkness blush. It's not like Raimi can do anything else.
