Can I see this version you made?

Uhh... sure.

Biggest thing for me was getting rid of the lens flare, which really drew my eye for some reason.

Still swooning over Bebpos photo. Such mood. Feels like an alien planet.

Here's some reworkings, if you're on my Facebook then you've seen it all already but I figure I'd hittup this thread too. Actually this could be a good thing since Facebook seems to compress photos where min.us doesn't so they should look nicer here, without artifacts. The direct link under each photo links to a 1900px or 1200px on the long edges photo depending on its orientation...

SO GOOD :)

If I ever get a waiting room, I'm buying your photos to put on the walls!  The window shot & the snow shot just blow my mind.

I'm really guttered, just got my DSLR back after 8 months and the sensor has been cleaned but within 15 (!) pics something else showed up it seems. Once again I'm back to taking pics with my phone, all this while my gf has gotten a brand new DSLR.

All the pictures I've taken in the last 8 months are phone quality, it's really depressing esp for my India pics  :'(

Blue, are you ever worried that when you go somewhere you will only take pics in  a certain style that mightaybe have adifferent mood to the situation you were in there?

Its kinf oh hard to explain but heres an example: you havee a fun camping trip with friends that is very lighthearted but you end with very stylized pics. Do you just have two sets of pics or what?

Youre saving up for a dslr now or what? Im kind of in a tough spot since i need to buy a bike first for commuting and cany spend that cash on a camera ( also i want a bike bad)

When out with friends or family it really does come down to two types of photographs. The majority of them are usually photojournalistic style. At my eye level, some influence on composition but its more about the moment and the people. Then there are the more creative ones where the composition is a little more radical, and stronger than the general photos but they're usually very minimal and showcase one person. There are usually five of these sort of photos out of 50 or so.

And I want to save up but I've been out of work for a while now. Once I do get a job I'll be in the same situation as you (transportation), I really need to think about buying a car first. But knowing me the need to have some sort of gear will weigh on me. Maybe I'll get a cheap point but good quality point and shoot then worry about the big boy later on.

Anything really. The issue comes down to transportation though. Where I live a lot of the work I actually know is near Boston which is a 45 minute ride by car. So, for a while now, I've been trying to get something local but the job market here is saturated with medical jobs and some retail and it seems like everyone is fighting for them lol. I've got a bead on something though, a second interview this week. Pay is shit but its something.

In time I'm hoping to get a used 5DMKII that goes for around $1500 at its cheapest. Maybe by the time I save up it'll be even cheaper.

Anyone else excited about the potential D600 announcement on the 13th?

New Full Frame Nikon for under $1500.

At least that's the rumor. I'm in for anything under $2k provided it has an in body focusing motor.

I was at surprise birthday party tonight in this little gazebo and it was AWESOME for taking shots.  I'm pretty impressed with the pics you can get when you bounce a flash off a ceiling while being outdoors at night.  The pitch black background combined with high detail/sharpness/color just looks so cool.  I need to use my flash more often!

I have to say the most difficult photography for me is still outdoor photography in the middle of a bright sunny day.  Everything is always so washed out I just can't capture any of the colors I'm seeing with my eye no matter how much I mess with the settings.  Bright sunny outdoors & nighttime outdoors are definitely my problem areas I need to work on.  I'm good for sunset/sunrise, cloudy, and indoors.

Really dig the composition in the second to last photo, Hyoushi. Nicely balanced, great sense of the ducks being nestled within the frame. The oceanscape is great too. Awesome textures. The RX100 really is something.

Heh, really? I like the lake/ducks one less and less after I uploaded it, it's too wide, should have zoomed a little or cropped it maybe. Oh well, thanks!

Yeah, light was really flat, was sunnier when I left home but when I got out there it was overcast. Wanted more sun/shade to play with but nooooo

Thanks, now I'm just annoyed about that stair step at the far right, maybe should have cropped it out. The RX100 is like 28-105 equiv if I remember correctly, but I usually stay around the wider range because of dat aperture
