...is just as powerful as the PS3. Does anyone else find that funny? It's basically unprecedented. It's never happened before.
Think about it for a minute, and use the past gens as an example. I'll use last gen with the Xbox / PS2.
Every single multi-platform port on Xbox slaughtered the PS2 version (except for like one game, Burnout, but 99% did).
And when I say slaughtered I mean they were vastly superior to their PS2 counterparts.
Fast forward to this gen with the 360 and PS3 and everything has turned completely upside down. If the PS3 truly was 'monumentally' more powerful than the 360, then multi-platform ports wouldn't even be close. The PS3 versions would be vastly superior, just like with last gen.
Not only are they NOT superior, but they're not even equal. The system that released a year earlier has the better versions. How insane is that? Like I said, it's unprecedented.
As for the exclusives, the fact that we're even having debates about Killzone, Gears, Resistance, etc., is seriously ridiculous. Why, you ask? Again, look to last gen. Would anyone argue that Ninja Gaiden Black doesn't shit all over every game on PS2? Even the mightiest of sfags wouldn't argue that. It's impossible to. The incredible Rallisport Challenge 2, Riddick (amazing), Halo 2, Panzer Dragoon, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, on and on... all of these games shit all over everything released on PS2. It's not even debatable.
Even when you consider games like Killzone 2... let's say for argument's sake that it's the best looking console game this gen. A lot of people agree with that statement. Hey, that's great, man. Awesome. But it's one game. One, compared to a myriad of titles on Xbox last gen that shat all over every PS2 game. And it took 4 years and $50 million to create that one game, and even then there's low-res textures littered all over the place.
Then you just look at what's going down this gen with the 360 & PS3... that we're even having these debates about which platform's exclusives look better, or the fact that every multi-plat game looks superior on the console released a year earlier -- it's like a bizarro gen.
