i've been called a distinguished black fellow about 3 or 4 times in my lifetime. Two occurred while in the south, once in Howell (which is basically KKK, Michigan), and once on a bus with my old Christian basketball team

Not all derogatory terms are created equal.  Some offend the community, some don't.  That does.  There's not much more to discuss.  We have a pretty laid back atmosphere, but you can't say whatever you want.  If you don't like it, you're free to leave.  We don't even ban the use of the word.  If folks creatively get around the censor, it usually results if everyone ignoring that poster and no more.  But the censor is in place so it's not easy for people to spam it, get out of hand in racial discussions, etc.
