most likely

it would have made you angrier and more bitter, which you could have leveraged into more and more heinous crimes against humanity and decency.

Now I must live every day knowing that I will never live my dream of jerking off on somebody's car without legal repercussion :(  This isn't a kind world for dreamers :(

Tens of thousands of hours lost...

If my boss only knew. ;)

Seriously though, my biggest mistake was never going to college, quitting basketball(tall guy, long arms, can jump), and not taking football seriously. What is worse is that it was for no good reason. I didn't drink or do drugs til years after high school.

At least I have a son to live vicariously through. ::)

Between here and GAF, I have 40111 posts written since 2004.  Assume that each post has a minimum of 10 words (although many posts have many many more than that), and I could have written Ulysses one and a half times :(

Very few regrets so  far, only trivial stuff. I've actually made a lot of good decisions!

mayyybe not ditching the software architect/fastrack to superstar job that I had for something less glamourous. But fuck I hated that job with a passion and that project was going NOWHERE no matter how hard I worked on it.

if you guys have "regrets" but through these periods of perceived procrastination you enjoyed what you were doing, then these were still good moments of your lives worth cherishing, even if what you accomplished wasn't any grand

my regret was caring for years and years about TV shows and TV stars, spending hours every day watching that; TV is so stupid and turns everyone into a mindless drone, I'd love being able to talk to my 13 years-old self and yell STOP BOTHERING WITH ANY OF THAT SHIT to instead reject the mainstream media and star systems, and embrace true countercultures at a young age

I could say spending a disproportionate amount of my years in high school on WoW and internet message boards, although I really don't consider either a mistake.

I honestly wish I'd started smoking weed earlier. No jokes, for serious. God knows it would have leveled me out and helped keep me from behaving like such a pathetic taco way back when.

yup, general internet fascination is my worst mistake.

It's like drug addiction.  One moment you are making a few innocent posts and the next, 10+ years have past and you can't remember anything happening in the interval.

Mostly being bad with money in college and racking up credit card debt.

Not taking more risks vocationally.  I've kinda settled and though I make a decent living I would like to try something more ''dream'' related.  The problem is trying to find out what my dreams are.

Screwing up my grades in my first year of college and losing a full-ride scholarship at the university I was attending, thus sending me to the second-string school I could better afford. I also regret not getting other financial aid in order at my first U and just continuing, but that's a different can of worms.

I have also spent way too much of my life on the fucking internet.

If I wouldn't have posted on the net in the last few years, I would be gaming or watching tv/movies more intensively. So that's not any better than what I did, but I figure I would have at least had more nostalgia or great memories from gaming/movies. Using the internet is a blur. Every day is the same and it's not memorable.

True but the worst part is that I know I'm not going to do anything different.  Today I will spend a couple hours (at least) online doing pointless shit.  I used to say that I would stop but I know now better.  I haven't hit rock bottom yet; the net equivalent to getting on my knees and sucking dick for crack.

Spending a year after high school working two days a week and dividing the rest of my time between posting on forums and smoking weed. I wasn't really fit to do much else at the time due to shyness and a lack of confidence, but sitting around doing fuck all wasn't exactly productive in overcoming that though.

I'm learning right now, believe me! But the reason why I feel it was a big mistake was because in college there were so many women close by, plus it was in Buffalo where I went to school which meant a lot of Polish blondes. It's really hard to meet girls once you're working full time, out of school, and aren't into shitty dive bars.

Having a child w/ my ex. I love my daughter, but if I could have waited and had her w/ my wife life would be nice much easier.

ugh, not something I like to think about, my ex is such a waste of space.

Do you have custody? Aw man that's a hairy situation. Does your wife treat the kid equally to her trueborn children, and does she get along with your ex?  :-\

In 5 years: not going to law school

I want to get my MBA, and then become a CPA. But honestly accounting/business is boring. In the back of my mind a voice tells me to go to law school and also major in political science.

PD: How old are you? If you're still an undergraduate, it's never too late to go to law school. It doesn't matter what you major in.

So why fret? You can still go to law school if you're majoring in accounting. Fuck, a top ten law school would probably prefer you to someone who looks like Plain Joe on paper: white male political science major (that's me!).

Nope, I don't. I get her every other weekend. J-dawg (wife) seems to treat her the same for the most, but I get on her ass if I think she is being a bit of an asshole. Jamie is a pissed off redhead for the most, so I generally have to jump her shit if I feel like she's going a bit far.

J-dweezie gets along w/ my ex a hell of a lot better than I do. Thank god for that, I let her handle the shit.

I'll probably regret starting smoking at 19.

I'm currently twenty, and I'm getting to where I smoke a pack a day. I smoked like half a pack in three hours last night over a measly TWO BEERS. Not even shitting you.

If it is any consolation, I started smoking around your age. I'm 33 now and have kicked the habit going on 5 months now. The WORST part of being a smoker at your age is the financial drain. Unless you are set in your career but @ 19 I'm guessing you are in college.

Yes, it is imperative you quit smoking before you have decent financial means.  Once it's something you can ALWAYS afford, one of the largest reasons for quitting sort of goes away.

I'm having some difficulities while practicing guitar, but sadly I have no one to discuss it with. Wish someone would add me to one of those instant message programs like AIM or MSN and sign in every once in a while and talk with me.

helps to be with a non-smoking wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/cheeseburger too.  it's the reason i quit.  started smoking at 17 and stopped at age 24.  now the smell of it pisses me off.
