What's the fix?

Aside from the invisible body parts, those characters models look great, even better than most non-mmorpgs.  I might have to get the game just to check it out like a tech demo.

For nVidia 8800s that have issues, you just need to wipe your drivers, use a driver sweep program, clean out the registry to get rid of old keys, and install the newest, signed drivers (from like a week or so ago).  It's apparently caused by a buildup of random crap from old driver installs that nVidia never removes.

Also, the game looks even better now.  There are more particle effects than before, which makes me figure that it has something to do with that.  The game still hitches occasionally, HL2-style, but I am assuming that's a lump that needs to be ironed out.

Are you using Vista for this game?  I've been having a bunch of issues since installing some new NV drivers for Vista.

I've used driver cleaner pro but it doesn't stop Vista from restoring some old drivers once I reboot.  Which utility can I use to clean out the registry and old driver garbage?

argh, mages sure die a lot

dark templars die a lot.

there's a quest where i have to kill a slaver to get a key (lol doom quality quest) and i kept dying against him.  it took me 4 times to kill him and i have no idea what i did differently to beat him the final time

i got up to level 10 and i got my first trait, only to accidentally place it where i didn't mean to. :\

i goofed off as a Something of Something that starts with an X and i spent my time doing melee and switching over to my demon form for bosses.  it was ok, but i would like something that is more combat magey.  heavier on combat than mage.

templar KIND of fulfills that, but i think that the skills i am getting now are buffs for spells i don't have (addition to my life tap stuff.  but i don't have anything labeled life tap)

yeah, like half my combat stuff is two handed swords?!

demon form is all I have, and thats interesting for 25 seconds every 2 minutes. I have found demon forms stamina is nuts, so you can basically run full sprint for like 25 seconds if youre in deep shit.

Still...

You get more skills as you advance. I'm not sure what kind of skills your class has, but when I was playing the barbarian (a rogue class) most of my skills were related to sneaking.

i'm only 10.

Frankly the Conan thing feels slightly tacked on at this point.  it seems like it could have easily been any generic fantasy setting.

Nothing about it screams conan, BUT the Tortage city is REALLY well done and it does look like a small fishing villiage which grew from that to what it has become.

i love the amount of character customization.  i haven't seen any two characters which look alike, quite a change from doing Foppish Dandies runs where we all looked the exact same.  It was like the clone wars.

the combat is really interesting, but very hectic.  i have a hard time determining if i'm doing any good against my foe while juggling my own health concerns because i'm keeping an eye on my combos and the like.  i can't imagine trying to be a priest.

but then i'm only half way through the intro quest, so i don't even know what the rest of the game is like, but reports state that the homelands are "amazing."  with the degree of care which went into Tortage, I wouldn't be surprised.

and new patch coming to address some issues

I was impressed with tortage. I think the combat is neat, but im a mage. I want more spells early on, so far the first seven levels have not been rewarding at all.

Buubserella is level 9 I think.  I have 3 spells for damage, 2 personal buffs, and my summon spell.  I am doing pretty well.

Man, the game runs like a dream now.  Well, there are still the expected graphical glitches and stuff, but it's night and day compared to before.

I was trying to give her wide, child-bearing hips.   :heartbeat

And I would have gotten rid of that huge scar, but I didn't notice it until I'd already finished her. Oh well, it's just a mark of her former slave life. But now she's a slave to no man, only to her own wild animal passions!

Anyone want a drinking cape?

This item will allow your characters (one game account only) to free of charge demand the very sought after alcholic drink of "Ambrosia" - free and in unlimited supplies for life!

I only have one to giveaway. So the best looking person gets it. Or whoever asks first, that works too.

This is way too keyboardy for console release, and I doubt MS would let them release a 20+ gig install game.

odd.

you have an idea of what you want to do for a class?

one thing to keep in mind is that there is nothing really resembling a typical mage character if you like them.

Dark Templar is probably my fave.  it's a healing/buff tank.  kind of like a paladin but without direct healing spells.  it's healing based on your damage output.

well it's not really too steeped in the lore.

it's more like they plugged in some names instead of really concentrating on making it inclusive of Howard's universe.

if you go into interface options, you can turn on side bars which you can then drag to anywhere you like.

the first 20 levels with the Tortage are really great but having to re-do it for EACH character is a bit of a pain in the ass.

the Heralds are a FUN class.  i think his issue is that he was playing it, or expecting it to play like a traditional mage, when it's really, really not.

it's a damn blast to play as you just wade through soldier after soldier
