The early game is pretty good, it's so much better than EQ2 or WoW (which are the only other two MMO's I've played at all). It actually plays almost like a decent single-player RPG, instead of just giving you a bunch of embarrassing tasks like kill 3 badgers, kill 4 wolves, kill 7 skeletons, repeat until your Lv. 20. Granted, there is plenty of that too, but there are almost story-line quests and cutscenes and stuff that are actually pretty decent. I played it for about 5 hours this afternoon, and got my barb up to Lv. 14.
And I like how there's almost no protection for newbs in the PvP servers. Once you leave the town, it's open season on your ass for one and all. Gank or be ganked. Age of Conan is a barrel-chested, two-fisted, manly man's game.
