I'm gonna play DMC4 next but after having playing the demo, I'm seriously not expecting it to even be in the same league as NG2. The combat, at least in the demo, was nowhere near as good and satisfying.

dmc4 ended for me when you get to play as dante, from there it's backtracking hell and not as fun as nero.

One other thing... the camera issues were overblown and exaggerated. It didn't bother me at all. I probably pressed RT to re-center the camera less than 10 times total during my entire playthrough. And I don't remember it ever being a hindrance... like causing me many deaths or making a certain boss much more difficult, etc. What a bunch of FUD.

DMC4's combat, unfortunately, doesn't shine until you've unlocked everything then there's the polarizing choice between Dante and Nero as Nero is highly highly offensively oriented. Levels are worse, there aren't jack for weapons, the enemies are pretty weak if not on DMD, but the bosses are fewer but better. Dante2 and Credo have a nice overwhelming feeling to them that Genshin had as well.

Yeah, and I'm seriously going to miss the de-limbing, decaps, cutting in half, etc., in these types of games. It adds SOOOOOO much to the combat, it can't be understated. It's not just an aesthetic.

I just started playing this; it's pretty damn awesome so far; too bad it was over-shadowed by MGS4; the gameplay is really good, and the difficulty isnt too hard. I think a lot of people were turned off by NG1's hardcore fuckoff difficulty level.

Just started this today. The graphics are kinda disappointing after MGS4. Both have anime artstyles but MGS4 does it so much better.

60fps of furious action is awesome though. I'm surprised at how much faster this game is than NG1 or DMC4.

First test of valor on Mentor is butt raping me. It sucks because I know it is my own weakness.

Sometimes I enter a fugue and my combos are precise and my dodges perfect and I do very well.

Sometimes I fumble like a buffoon and I'm dead in 20 seconds.

so far, the update does:

- once you get to the next batch of enemies, the previous batch following you will disappear. The batches of enemies used to stack up and did cause the framerate to go down, not 100% sure.

- fixes the infinite Karma glitch from chapter 9 jellyfishes.

- fixes the speed challenge leader board, now every one can upload his time.

- fixes a game breaking glitch in chapter 10 where you couldn't proceed pass the acid pit with the worms in it because the game didn't register that they died.

- enemies getting stuck glitches fixed? not 100% sure.

taken from gamefaqs and some other forums.

alright, i just tested this on the 2nd chapter and it is the same as ever (playing on mentor.)

it's either they fixed this with specific enemies/chapters or this is completely false.

That sequence is a gut check. Took me like 15 tries to finally figure them out. Once you do they, of course, become much easier.

Doesn't help that you have to skip that cutscene every time

Thing I've found is that the head jump is THE move against everything humanoid. The iframes and the stun are just invaluable. You need to develop the reflex of head jumping then dash dodging back into whatever you just jumped off, or if you hit a wall comboing from the wall.

Once you get that down the fights become much more controllable.

i think i died 20 fucking times trying to beat that big spider and his minions with explosive shurikens using the claws, in chapter 2.

i gave up and used the dragon sword instead which is not my style at all

genshin on the other hand went down easily with the claws, just slide, slash and maneuver when necessary.

as for NG1, i can't go back to it now, I LOVE THIS FAST FUCKING ACTION.

I popped in Black the other day.

Still fun, but damn, it's like Baby Gaiden. You fight like 2 dudes at once, counters are just ridiculous, and Ryu feels so slow.

the guy in your avatar doesn't like mission modes, he said that in one of the interviews.

mission modes is basically areas from the story mode with enemies and bosses, i prefer if they work on new content a la hurricane packs.
