I'm talking about exclusives. The PS2 was the defacto 3rd party machine last generation due to its massive install base. Microsoft was new to the console business, and as such, they sought to develop 3rd party relations of the bat--Team Ninja, Sega, Rare, and the Bungie purchase, for example.
Sony has been relying on the PlayStation brand name to gain 3rd party support. And the exclusives they have tied up have been lackluster so far--Haze and UT3 (timed). This generation has been very interesting because Sony has been positioning itself as a powerhouse 1st party developer, similar to Nintendo, yet their past success has always been due to 3rd parties.
