I don't hate Ang Lee's film, but this really feels like a big budget version of the 70s television series - which I loved as a kid. There's a ton of imagery lifted from the television show, including some classic music cues. You can tell Ed Norton really loved the television show.
But - yeah! - the climax puts the original Hulk film to shame. It puts every comic book film to shame. These two huge monsters duke it out for like twenty minutes and it's totally awesome. It doesn't pull any punches and revels in its comic book roots, which is something a lot of adaptations try to shake loose from but then force a phoney third act climax (I'm looking at you, Spider-Man!).
The guy who did this is the guy who did The Transporter and I guess that fits. He's good at kinetic, fast paced action sequences.
Neat cameo from a recent Marvel film got a standing ovation.
Cinematography was really good too. Looks much more cinematic than Iron Man, which I felt looked flat.
Several great .gifs can be stolen from this flick and used as Internet memes. I won't spoil scenes, but there's a few, "O SNAP!" moments that totally satisfy that inner child that just wants to beat the shit out of folks that are assholes.
