******Obviously, if you want to avoid spoilers for Watchmen, do not read below this point.******
I just finished reading it and I'll start with what I liked most about it:
-The alternate reality with superheroes and Nixon in office is great.
-The pirate sidecomic is very well written and is interwoven perfectly in the main story.
-The themes are well laid out
-Knowing that Rorschach's journal may have been published is awesome. I would have liked to know what happens when the world finds out though.
What I didn't like:
-I thought that the "fake alien" that Ozy creates is pretty fucking ridiculous. Now I know that the story was fiction, but I thought that the universe lent itself more realistically than that. A fucking alien that was cloned from a psychic's brain? Cmon.
-Dan and Laurie's complacency at the end seemed kind of out of character. I realize that they both were somewhat complacent after they became outlawed, but I figured after they had the superhero renaissance and broke Rorschach out of jail that they would be more steadfast.
I thought that it was good, but not great. I didn't find the story very profound, but I will say that it was well told. Any further insight into the story or impressions would be greatly appreciated.
